Yeah from what I've heard of linux-based operating systems you kind of have to know what you're doing to make them work for you. Since my software knowledge is at the "I don't fall for internet viruses" level I've steered clear of it.

Never had any trouble at all. The hardware I'm running came at the end of the vista era so it's pretty much equally compatible with 7 as it is with XP.

That sounds like a pretty good setup. My only experience with duo booting was that old xp with ubuntu- it ran ubuntu alright in the end, but I just ultimate stuck with windows.

I still have windows XP on my ancient in computer years desktop. I did dual boot it with windows 7 but occasionally I need to bring out XP for compatibility reasons.

You must've had a bad experience with XP. I ran it for 7 years and it never blue screened.

oh no. This baby also ran for something like 7 years. In it's last year it started going to shit and I just never bothered to fix it since I knew i'd upgrade soon
