5280 feet = 1 mile. Yeah, that's right bitches.

Yeah.. it does make sense. No, it isn't in tidy increments of ten, but it still makes sense. The fact that it is still around (even because of stubborness) implies that it still works. It IS more complicated which implies that it requires more brain power. It isn't necessarily a bad thing, yes clunky, but it still functions perfectly fine.

I think its a crappy system because it follows no clear pattern unlike the metric system also notice what countries use the imperial system.
Myanmar (a.k.a. “the country formerly known as Burma”)
United States of America
And Liberia and Myanmar aren't knows for their sophistication and America is just stubborn.

The problem is, you metricfags think we only use the Imperial system, whereas we use the Imperial system for more common place things. For going any further, like scientific measurements, or extremely long distance measurements, we'll use the metric system. Maybe instead of thinking all Americans are idiots for using the Imperial system, realize that we have the brain capacity to do both.
Unfortunately, as we've seen here... A lot of Americans do not have a whole lot of brain capacity.

"Brain capacity to do both", implying people using the metric system are dumb?
Have you considered "the brain capacity to use the system that actually makes sense"?
Btw you know why all the scientific stuff is in the metric system? Because some metric guys had the 'brain capacity' to invent them, the lack of scientific formulas in the imperial system implies you didn't have that much more brain capacity after all...

The Imperial system is just a common system we use for every day things. Unfortunately for us, we're too ingrained in our ways that we cannot switch over to the metric system easily. We've tried. Everyone flipped the fuck out. What needs to happen is gradually change the systems over, then we could rid ourselves of the Imperial system forever.

Then why don't we just abandon such a backwards system all together and use a universal system. In Canada we occasionally use the metric system to refer to height that could be due the american influence but i digress. Then the counter argument could be made why don't we use kelvin to measure temperature or use stone to measure weight we could if we wanted to but it would be complicated for no reason
