I disagree but I understand where you're coming from which bums me out even further- a whole lot of people have exact opposite reactions to this movie and I wish everyone was happy

Rey- Girl with confusing past, grown to be self reliant, must come to grips that she is mor important than she's ever known- there is a legacy she is coming up in.

Finn- raised in captivity, kept low even in the ranks of those who have indoctrinated him, first can't stop running, then gains a sense of purpose and finds people who give him reason to stand up for something

Kylo Ren- the blood of the most terrifying, powerful beings in recent memory course through his veins, and he wants to be as powerful. He is impatient, young, brash, and conflicted. A strange dark force uses that to manipulate him. He isn't that scary, but he's trying SUPER hard to be. The more he fails to intimidate, the angrier and darker he becomes. We've already had plenty of badass unstoppable dark Sith. He's something new- a young and unsure follower of the Dark side who can't live up to his own hype and everyone around him knows it.

Yeah but that sounds more like a problem with the fans.

I've lived and breathed Star Wars for my entire life- it's ver important to me. I saw the new one 3 times opening weekend, each time going online and looking for what bothered people and looking at those issues in the new viewings.

My ultimate conclusion was that even though I understand the issues people have with the film, I also think that they're taking the "it's lazy! It's the same plot line!" FAR too seriously- in fact, telling a story that "rhymes" is what George Lucas claimed his goal was from the very beginning.

The new film introduced some interesting concepts, realistically developed the old characters while ushering in the new ones. The acting is nothing short of fantastic, the characters distinct and memorable, and yet it's all within something familiar.

The movie was played safe, I agree, and could have tried harder to tread new ground. But people acting as though this was somehow a step back for the series are seriously deluding themselves- this franchise was dead, and now it's got some faint vitals.

I'm not going to lay down such decisive judgement until Disney plays more of their hand on this.

old republic, It was pure shit when it came out like most mmos but it really improved. I play it on off at times and i say its worth the play if you love star wars. you do have to go into realizing that its not going ot be another WOW. you play old republic for the story not for the end content and pvp. Also they tend to be very jew about things in game sicne the whole game is technically free(have to pay or bank slots, bag space, ECT although they are usally really cheap)

I was super in to Runescape when I was in elementary and middle school- I can deal with being in it for the story and people being stingy about content xD

The Old Republic or Galaxies? Because I picked up Galaxies when it was still out but i have yet to get around to Old Republic the MMO (loved the standalones KNIGHTS of the Old Republic and Jedi Academy though).

i hope so because the star wars univerise is one of my favorites but i feal like since disney got it they care more about appealing to familys and kids because toys from a kids movie sell better than a good plot from a serious film
