| You mean like we beta tested D3 RoS for console gamers? Pick an argument that makes fucking sense. #249 -
animedudej (06/18/2014) [-] i pirated Wash dogs to see how it ran on my pc... it ran like shit! even with an outdated nvidia gpu i could run crysis 2 and BF2 decently on max settings around 30fps... Watch Doge ran sub-20fps and even lower when moving fast (I.E. driving) i might upgrade to a 660 as thats only around 1300kr on komplett... If you're upgrading get the 660 ti rather than just the 660, i got the 660 and really regret it. It runs almost all games on ultra/max but that extra power would be fantastic. Wildstar is getting 30-50 fps which worries me about all the next gen games that are comming. i'd be upgrading from a 545 so almost anything in the 600 series would be better in leaps and bounds I was just tellin you my experience with the card after 6 months of use that its worth the extra 40$ upgrade. Except tons of people still play it. And the story is fucking amazing no matter how old it is. Quit re-hashing the same, just flat-out untrue argument that has been given a thousand fucking times over. I have it on PS3 and play the shit out of it and intend to when it's out on PC too. It will probably even have a better community too #102 -
anon (06/18/2014) [-] Yeah, cause it sucked ass. Now the PC gamer community will fix the game with mods like they always do. rockstar...wanted you to fucking play it so that you have to pay out the ass just to enjoy it, so...have fun with that, faggot. Actually I jizz in my pants over Halo, big PC gamer. But I absolutely love the Halo series, the may have fucked up from time to time. but I still love it, shit was my childhood. and the jobs? Don't even get me started on the fuckin' jobs...Shit pay for 20 minutes of your fucking life. It doesn't even get any better either. There's only like two jobs that actually pay decently and even then you have to fucking grind all day just to fucking get enough money to actually do fun shit. Except I did like GTA V. Online's a different story, it's like the devs were on crack or something when they were making the online portion. I mean what kind of bullshit is it that it's okay for some asshole in a tank to blow your car up with said tank without having to pay for your insurance (Especially if it's something like a fuckin' infernus), yet whenever you do it to them, you still have to pay for the fuck's car. >too tedious to read. Read, nigga read. and I'm not exaggerating this, this is all literally gameplay elements of GTA Online. I think his issues with online are more the fact that there's been nearly a year without the content promised in vanilla and the heavy HEAVY push towards buying in-game currency. it's not just that, it's also the fact that they overhyped online mode and basically implied that everything in the singleplayer would be available in online, that there would be so much shit to do when in reality it's just a few things and even then the jobs just give out shit pay because they keep nerfing payouts and shit...and the fact that you're basically forced to grind just to fucking get enough money to do what you want...not to mention the fact that you can't really walk 5 feet without getting chased by the cops, and there isn't any friendly free roam like there was for both GTA 4 and RDR, and i honestly doubt they'll put it back in... Well, they basically used consoles to get extra cash before they put it on PC. Rockstar has a tendency to be that way with console-pc releases. (IE: Max Payne 3 being all but ignored on consoles and being hacked to oblivion.) and please, refer back to comment numbers 114, 115, 116, and 117. It all goes back to your actual original comment at number 113. Being the jews that the devs at rockstar are right now, they'll probably have workarounds and patches and shit for those mods to protect their precious microtransactions/cash cards, like they've been doing since...I wanna say mid-november. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't do that, because that would result in possibly the biggest backlash from gamers in forever. Plus I have no doubt that people would just use mods to remove the anti-mod mods. They'd lose more money trying to stop people circumventing the rules than if they just let modders do their own thing. >I'm pretty sure they wouldn't do that They've literally been doing exactly that since November. In fact, that's one of the reasons (And in their own words) heists haven't come out yet. >Plus I have no doubt that people would just use mods to remove the anti-mod mods. They're still probably going to create anti-mod shit no matter what. Which again, is all in the name of protecting their microtransactions and cash cards. >They'd lose more money trying to stop people circumventing the rules than if they just let modders do their own thing. You'd think, but sadly that doesn't seem to be the case, at least not on console, anyway. I don't think we're on the level about what I mean when I say 'mods'. Mods are generally user made, and as such there are generally hundreds of them that can be made. I don't see how Rockstar could somehow "patch out" a user made mod, because with a few small changes a knowledgeable modder could easily circumvent the patch within a few hours, and could do so infinitely. Plus, it would have to be a pretty popular mod to even register on the dev radar. I don't think it would be possible to create a mod which would enable you to abuse the transaction system anyway, at least not if the game was programmed with proper security measures. Lastly, although I could be wrong, I've never seen the microtransaction format thrive on PC. My guess is they'll probably try moving some things into DLC format anyway. >Mods are generally user made, and as such there are generally hundreds of them that can be made. You and I are talking about the exact same thing. >I don't see how Rockstar could somehow "patch out" a user made mod Like I said. They've literally been doing exactly that since November, to protect their microtransactions and the online portion of the game's currently non-existant economy. >Plus, it would have to be a pretty popular mod to even register on the dev radar. If it's anything to do with money, then yes it'll register on their radar. >I don't think it would be possible to create a mod which would enable you to abuse the transaction system anyway, It's not about abusing the system, It's about modders giving billions upon billions of dollars (That they, the modders, never earned from the microtransactions but simply had it added to their account via mod) to people who are to lazy to play the fucking game and earn the money themselves. Look, I haven't played GTAV, so I suspect some of what you're saying is going to be lost on me, but even so what your saying is coming across as confusing as fuck to me. You cannot 'patch' a user mod. If I create a mod that replaces all dialogue sound files to be replaced with fart sounds, I'm probably going to overwrite a whole bunch of code in the game. I'm not sure how they'd create something to prevent mods, because any code they put in could just be overwritten. It's not as though the game has the capacity to check its own code to prevent any changes. Plus, user mods are optional. They couldn't possibly include huge swathes of code to patch out every single user made mod. When you talk about 'dollars' are you talking about in-game dollars, or actual money? >When you talk about 'dollars' are you talking about in-game dollars, or actual money? Both. you see, the cash cards basically give you in-game money (the most expensive one being the megalodon cash card which costs $99.99 USD and gives you 8 milion dollars of in-game money). Basically, A few months ago, we had this thing go rampant where modders were giving out billions upon billions of dollars and it lasted for a good month the first time, then rockstar patched it and removed some features from the game relating to money. then in either december or january, the modders did it again. But that's for console, which has very specific systems in place. Like I said before, if they were smart they'd alter the game in such a way where the in-game money market can't be devalued by modders, ie with DLC packs instead of microtransactions, but I suppose we'll have to see how it plays out. not to mention the fact that every time you die with a gun out, you lose ammo for it. and let me put that into perspective. watch this. Literally everything in this trailer is just bullshit. you don't even get to do that much shit. there is no real "freedom" like there was with GTA IV, hell you're basically forced to keep doing jobs just so you can actually "enjoy" the game. Hell, It's been eight months and heists still aren't out even though they implied it would be there at launch. Hell, you can't even have fun unless you pay out the fucking ass...Like...Say I wanted to go on a fucking rampage, I'd have to go through a process: Buy ammo, buy a gun, Kill a shit ton of people, kill the cops, die, pay hospital bills, repeat. Total cost of that? At least ten or twenty grand just for the ammo and guns. Wanna get revenge on someone who destroyed your non insured car? Too bad, you have to pay FOR their car. Wanna walk down the street minding your own business? Too bad, you're gonna get the cops just for walking down the fuckin' street. Regarding single player, I agree. Multiplayer is a different story. I didn't get a chance to play GTA online much in the first few months, and around Christmas time I came home on holiday and went to play online. I couldn't find any deathmatch games, no jobs, hardly any players. Players I did encounter were vastly higher in level and kept murdering me with their armored cars and upgraded weapons. It was impossible to level up. I never got to play it or Last of Us, I'll be getting a ps4 later this year so I care. #34 -
anon (06/18/2014) [-] you mean the game which will get a lot of interest again once people start modding it? I understand and agree completely, but in the particular case of GTA V, it really isn't the finished game Rockstar said it was. multiplayer was released after the full game and was buggy as hell, and heists still aren't implemented yet. On an unrelated note, PC games get ported to consoles long after their initial release as well. Warframe and D3 are two prime examples of that. A lot of multiplayer games are like that. Hell, Uncharted 2 didn't get it's version of Horde mode until a decent amount of time after it came out. Matchmaking was horrible, and I can't believe how many times I lost connection to a match I was playing. This a normal occurrence for multiplayer games. Do I even need to bring up Battlefield 4? Until the developers release a game that is truly finished, this will continue to happen. True. However, it's fairly obvious that said games are meant for PC. Diablo 3 just doesn't play well on a PS3. Not to mention, it was largely ignored aside from the PC version. Another example would be any MMO on a console. As much as I loved FF14, it just isn't meant for a controller. | ||
