I was just more inclined to make him a fav because a Stark became king. He was stupid as shit in the book, but Richard Madden made him really interesting to watch and gave life to an otherwise bland character.

As far as we know, there is no definitive answer. I think TWoW will finally answer what the name means, but as of right now there's 5 major theories.
1- It's symbolic for Jon because he's, more than likely, stark and targaryen.
2- It's for Jon and Dany
3- It's for the walkers and dragons
4- It's about the transition from a long summer to an even longer winter
5- It's about The starks all together making a comeback, as well as the targaryens.
since apparently there's also another targaryen alive other than dany.

i've read the series 3 times over, but I always forget his name. but yeah, i think he does have blackfyre, or brightroar, the lannister sword. The reason i think he has brightroar is because there's so much mystery surrounding The Doom and him, and the fact that brightroar was lost in Valyria, kinda adds up to me. I can't wait to see how him, Jon Connington and Tyrion deal with the whole sellsword thing. Jon is like the targaryen eddard in terms of loyalty and honesty, and Tyrion is so laid back about stuff like that. it's gonna be interesting to see how those two different view points about such a major thing for them play out.

I don't have a favorite character, it's too hard to choose from. Here's my top 10 though, in no order:
1- Bronn
2- Tyrion Lannister
3- Robb Stark
4- Stannis Baratheon
5- Jaime Lannister
6- Bran Stark
7- Jon Snow
8- The Hound
9- Barristan Selmy
10- Robert Baratheon

I'd say out of those 10, Jaime, Bran, Robb, and Bronn are more towards the top than the others.

i tried to read them in elementary school when i finished lotr, but it felt like such a decline of quality going from tolkien to rowling. I tried again in middle school after reading the first two game of thrones books, but still had the same problem.
and now I'm 19, and the idea of reading books targeted towards elementary school kids is a turn off for some reason.
just not meant to be.

Captainrattrap, I don't know who it's going to be (nobody know's who it's gonna be), but I know that Adam Driver is going to play the initial villian, and if I had to guess, Jacen Solo will probably turn to the darkside in this movie and be the villian for episode VIII (or IIX, I don't know which roman numeral is appropriate).

it is NOTHING like the book. The book gives such a detailed explanation of the world during and after the apocalypse, and has over 50 people telling their own experiences from the war.
And they're all different too. Like one is about a girl who believe she was having an experience with a roman god during the apocalypse, one is from the view point of a girl with down syndrome, and another is from a ptsd war vet who fought in the biggest battle of the apocalypse.

All are reallllly interesting.

Distopian, fantasy kinda stuff, zombies and just trying to survive any situation

Game of Thrones obviously has all of that, so there's that.
Zombies and shit, check out World War Z. It's a collection of stories from people who survived a zombie apocalypse. Really interesting.
Metro 2033 and 2034 are amazing post-apocalyptic survival stories.
The Leviathan novels are pretty good for distopian, but they're targeted towards readers ages 15-18 so don't expect any GoT stuff.
I'm sure Kayred could recommend some other stuff.
