It appens. Overall, it seems that we more or less agree, so I believe there's nothing more to add. Just have nice day or something.

Oh and sorry for the double reply, but actually the instinct to take care of the offspring is natural for both parents. Paternal instinct exists, and it's a really good thing. Sharing the responsibilities is effective, easier to accomplish, and overall reliable. As I said in another comment, even beings as primitive as cavemen had a simple scheme of women taking care of the babies and men providing for the family. If our atavistic instincts were as you imply - men impregnating women and immediately leaving - things wouldn't look that way so long ago, when we didn't even have a society.

That whole "it's natural and effective to procreate with as many women as possible" is a relatively new concept and is a bunch of baloney based on shallow logic, that only careless egoists use to cover themselves up to avoid responsibility for their actions.

Well, then you must have got yourself a harem, which, by my logic, counts as the best possible solution for reproduction.

You can also be in relationships with many women without them knowing about each other. Ethically, that makes you a horrible scum. Practically, it's effective and reliable, if hard to maintain. But it's a matter of priorities whether someone will attempt that or not. If you ask me, the potential consequences of being discovered are rather discouraging.

Actual harem excludes that risk though, as the women know about each other and know what they're getting into beforehand. But it's also not always culturally appropriate, hard to achieve, even harder to afford, and overall complicated.

Sorry if i wasn't clear, my point was the article is written as a response to the phrase "money is the root of all evil", which is incorrect, as it should be "the love of money is the root of all evil".

i think the question is, is how much of our animalistic instinct do we follow? what you described is something often found in nature but humans are also know to go against the nature of things, being unpredictable. how much of our psychology is wired to our survival instincts? maybe being horny is a urge to reproduce, but then contraceptives were made so its kind of a contradiction.
User avatar #129 - ciacheczko (3 hours ago) [-]
Here's a huge hole in your reasoning: If you sleep with many women, you can be guaranteed that they are the kind women who sleep with many men.

You think that you just fuck whomever you like and each of those chicks is all like "Well, okay, that's this one and only casual sex I had, enough for now. I'll wait until his seeds fertilise me and not have sex with any other guys, so his magnificent genes can spread further"? By casually sleeping with chicks, you will almost always get the ones that are, as you could call that, "open for competition". And since it's XXIst century, women who enjoy casual sex use protection - if they aren't borderline stupid. Cause, you know, birth control is a thing. We don't want to raise your bastard kids because of your stupid "spreading the genes" excuse for being unfaithful and irresponsible with sex.

Having a stable relationship is what really guarantees you that the girl will get pregnant and the kids will be yours. Providing for them only increases their chance at success and breeding further.
User avatar #148 - mikepetru (2 hours ago) [-]
Don't get me wrong, I am in no way trying to validate sleeping around, for men or women, only to analyze the subconscious reasoning for creating the ideas of studs and sluts. Our society has evolved. While 'spreading seed' still influences the actions of many promiscuous men, many more men have elected to seek exclusive relationships with women where they are present to raise their children, as they deem this more suitable for spreading their genes and ensuring the survival of their children , in effect transforming the biological imperative into something new
User avatar #142 - mikepetru (2 hours ago) [-]
What if I've slept with many women who I was in a committed relationship with? I obviously won't judge a woman who has previously had sex with other men because it doesn't matter once we have committed ourselves to each other. We have chosen each other as exclusive partners.
I never said this biological imperative was an excuse to be promiscuous and unfaithful. I think it's fascinating that humanity has adapted to rise above our basic instincts in favor of the nuclear family. Yes, this is the 21st century and yes women use protection, but the connotation of breeding competition. You can't ignore your biological instincts/reactions to a situation like that, but as previously stated, we as a species have learned to rise above our biological imperative and can freely choose whether to sleep with someone, regardless of whether they have had multiple partners.

If somebody sleeps around, they are fucking gross. It's not an issue of mate stuff like a pack of goats or some shit. Nasty guys and girls are nasty because they sleep around.
User avatar #53 - ayumu (11 hours ago) [-]
And they are nasty because of sleeping around because the reason stated above
that's the psychology behind it
#206 - fefe (50 seconds ago) [-]
Theres plenty of women and men who find male sluts nasty though.
User avatar #54 - sliferzpwns (11 hours ago) [-]
There is no fucking psychology in stds They are fucking nasty, because they are way more likely to fucking have herpes or something.
User avatar #55 - ayumu (11 hours ago) [-]
But that's not your immediate thought behind why you don't like whores
it's just
damn, they a whore
User avatar #56 - sliferzpwns (11 hours ago) [-]
Then you are fucking stupid. Your first fucking thought should be "Hmm do they have the herp? Syphilis? Gonareah? maybe aids, shit maybe they have crabs?" That is the first thing you should think of, not they are nasty just because they nasty. Theres a reason yo. STDs mean no D
