Che was a communist but why do you say that like it's a bad thing on its own? Before you say that I'm a communist, I'm not, but I am an anarchist and I believe that the form of socialism Che and Fidel tried to implement in Cuba is a far better option than the Crisis we live in today. Yes Capitalism is not in Crisis, it IS CRISIS. Now back to the point. Did Che kill people? Yes, he killed some of the most stuck up upper class members who were rooted in the former system and would overthrow a newly formed government of Cuba. It was all so that these people did not force the rest of population to live in shanty towns while the upper class would live in villas. On the other hand during his other campaigns Che ordered his guerillas to let go any captured POW, some of them actually joined the guerilla later on. Was Che a racist? Contrary to some early quotes from Ernesto himself, he was not racist, otherwise why would he go to Kongo to fight for these people's revolution too?
To clarify I'm not a great fan of Cuba or Venezuela, but these too countries would be the best countries to live in if it wasn't for the embargos. Again I would rather opt for no government at all.

the core tenant of socialism is that the workers control the means of production. In Russia, Cuba and China (two of whom are openly capitalist) the workers do not have control the means of production.

Socialist is simply a label these countries use as propoganda to jusify their suppression of democracy.
