That's just not the epidemic. The psychology of being fat, combined with the parasitic fast food industry, is causing a massive rise in weight related disease. We also have these retarded "health at any weight" and fat acceptance ass holes attempting to belittle self control. No one ever died from being (reasonably, and while receiving nourishment) thin. There is a lot of talk over eating disorders, which is the opposite extreme, but people being within ideal BMI is kind of the ideal.

ive honestly never really craved sugar and i hate chocolate. Seriously. So i guess i get that luxury. effort wise and time consuming wise, gaining takes hundreds of more hours directed to the cause though. But mentally, in order to lose weight and stop that addiction, it can bring people to their breaking point same as all other forms of addiction. Like i have friends trying to lose weight and everyday its like "seriously. stop. eating. how is that so hard to do" i just can't grasp how they don't stop.

I understand that. It's not easy. But neither is losing weight. Don't belittle either side, was my point. I've battled food addiction. It makes it easier when after not eating fast food, it tastes like shit, but it is designed to appeal to base brain. Mammals are hard wired to enjoy that shit, and they know it. It's hard to find a good, healthy meal for lunch where I'm at. I try to grab grilled chicken wraps or salads with no dressing, but I still have to try hard to convince myself to not grab that cheese burger, because I know it won't just be once.

Ive gotten to the point where fast food or greasy food just disgusts me and living here in San Antonio Texas the current, or former, fattest city in the US, theres so much bad food down here. My mom somewhat battles food addiction she's one of those "comfort food" types and she's upset about her weight but doesn't stop all her bad habits and it infuriates me how she doesn't listen to me.

I just get upset how all the attention is on "losing weight" when no one seems to care about those trying to gain.

The problem with this argument is that the sources of information come from two completely different types of people.
The argument that losing weight is harder must have come from someone who was originally fat, and the argument that gaining mass is harder must have come from someone who was originally scrawny. Losing weight/gaining mass takes a different type of mindset, but they both require determination. It's like comparing apples and oranges.

Energy-consumption-wise, gaining mass would definitely be harder. You have to provide enough nutrients, exercise, training and work for your body to grow. And that shit's hard to do. With losing weight, all you have to do is stop fucking eating, nigga. That's it. Eat three small, healthy meals a day.
Mentally, however, I think losing weight would be harder. Being fat comes with so many drawbacks, but the little benefits (like dopamine releases from eating food) can overpower you when you feel like giving up on exercise. Also, the face that a fat person can work out for less time than a skinny person is probably disheartening.

The only variable that really counts for anything here is the mindset of the fat/skinny person. If you're the kind of person who gives up easily you're going to find everything difficult. If you like a challenge, you might find it difficult, but you're going to reap much more satisfying rewards. Personally, I'm of a healthy weight. I have a lot of stamina but I'm a weak noodle. I am skinny but I have no abdominal muscle (so my stomach does the flab thing even though the rest of me is fine). I think I can fix that easily. I used to do tawkwondo, so I know there's at least one sport/workout that I would enjoy, and I'm not a quitter.
On the other hand, if I were fat, I think I'd get worse and worse. I enjoy sugar. A lot. Enough to make people comment on it. And I eat at unhealthy intervals (either way too much or way too little). I also don't sleep enough, and I don't like leaving my room.
Overall, which thing is 'harder' is a personal issue, not a technical one.
And you guys are stupid for bothering to argue over it.

But thanks, because now I have motivation to actually fix these damn flabs.

No, I agree. Addiction can be overcome. But it's all calories in vs calories out, for gain or loss. Aesthetic build? Good on you. Grab a magazine or two, they have some great information in them. I assume you're stacking properly.

trying to. its difficult to get in all the things i need to in a day with full time work full time university. Used to be skinny fat, thats what i was trying to overcome. Addicting to video games mind you, just played all day while snacking every now and then. Had to overcome that.

Look bro, you need to stop posting the, "virgins, virgins everywhere" comment on every pony post you see. I understand one or two, but every post you go on is literally that one pic commented every time. At least get a hater reaction folder if you're gonna do that, maybe a little more variety.
