And nobody's saying it's a bad thing. It's quite god damn exciting to have something like Halo mechanics x TF2 mechanics and classes x Bioshock Infinite like atmosphere. No one said it's identical. But many of your 'refutations' are merely pointing out minor differences between characters. It's the core role of each character that makes it similar to TF2, not their appearance.

It's really obvious after seeing the gameplay trailer that TF2 was a huge inspiration for the gameplay mechanics.

we also should consider on how expansive these characters could potentially be. we don't know how far blizzard is going to take the customization and skills of all these characters. Or at least i don't know . So until we get more information we shouldn't be jumping to conclusions yet.

It is most definitely TF2 inspired, but that's a good thing because right now TF2 is pretty much the only "fun casual FPS shooter with hidden depth" out there. Blizzards thing is to take ideas from other games, change them around and make them better. That's what they're good at.

Symmetra - Engineer (Teleporters and Sentry Missiles)
Pharah - Soldier (She can fucking jump with a rocket launcher)
Hanzo - Huntsman Sniper
Reaper - Spy (Cloak and instant kill)
Winston - Melee Heavy (With a good old Buffalo Steak Sandvich)
Torbjorn - Engineer with Frontier Justice (Added power when sentry is destroyed)
Bastion - Minigun Heavy
Mercy - Medic (Almost exact same healing design, even with group heals (Amputator))
Widowmaker - Sniper
Zenyatta - Demoman
Reinhardt - Demoknight with OP shield (Very similar charging effect too)

Admittedly, the game looks awesome, but there are UNMISTAKABLE similarities between Overwatch's gameplay trailer and an average TF2 match. Like, way too similar to avoid people complaining. And I'll be one of them.
