i don't not agree that bond should never be black. i just think it should be the best bond actor. you know, smart, suave, quick on his feet. if the actor is white, he's white. if he's black he's black. whoever brings the character to life more should be the one to play him.

You're both right. There are times when they pick a good actor to play a character, and they happen to be the wrong race. And there are times when they change a character's race before casting, to fit a quota or agenda.

But I've also never seen a black character played by a white actor before. Heck, there was a local play somewhere where they wanted to retell the Civil Rights Movement with MLK being white, and there was so much backlash that I believe they had to cancel it.

Angelina Jolie as Mariane Pearl in A Mighty Heart (it wasn't that good so it dropping under the raider is understandable)
Kevin Spacey as Eugene Simonet in Pay it Forward (again a film under the rader but in the book the teacher is said to be black)

I'm not upset that it was cast, I'm a little annoyed that people are calling it canon.

Well it's quite simple. People are casting characters to be Black not necessarily because they'd suit role. But because they are black.
