but art in every form is very subjective and the 'whole image' of art changes every couple of decades (sculptures, paintings, music, performance), change to portray the society (or parts of it), using different methods, invoking different feelings and using different layers of subtlety.

I'm not fond of the annoying boy/girl myself and I change the channel whenever he plays on the radio, but tuvan throat singing is considered art, naked/erotic paintings & pictures books aswell, while fx. some pole-dancing enthusiasts/advocates try to make that an artform (like being a sport isn't enough). (which raises the question if wrestling is an art form aswell)

art to me is something that you can derive/interpret a meaning from without it directly being given to you. His music is transparent, gives an implied meaning that can't be interpreted as anything else and never changes, not that I've bothered to listen to anything that hasn't come up on the radio.

they don't give awards to artistic people, they pander to the largest audience like the business they are and slander the idea of art as a whole.
