Indeed. Although I'd argue that "karma" has less to do with physical laws than it does with social engineering. If you convince everyone karma exist, and that the universe will reward good deeds, then you'll find that more often than not it appears to happen. However, the reward is only a manifestation of everyone being good to eachother, and of course the universe still couldn't give a fuck.

Maybe its better to let the masses believe karma exist; for like animals they might only do good in hope of a treat.

but wouldn't atrophy dictate that the further removed your actions are in time and space the less "reaction" you will receive?

eg you give the man 50 cents, but in the time back from the vending machine he might decide to give his soda to a receptive female instead?

Thats where your argument would dominate mine, i used something that is a law and always happen to lead into my next and key piece of the argument. That karma is more or less part of a religion that is originated from india and that although they are related in a way, karma in said religion is actually quite different and should not be applied in daily life. To say that the reason someone got hit by a bus because he was a total is karma is just wrong and it pulls karma out of its context. Yes maybe he deserved it because he was so much of a dick, but the fact that you are going to say some magical caused the bus to hit is quite unintelligent. Rather to say that the bus hit out of CHANCE, would better suite what really happened there and in general day to day life. Also and lastly this is not to say things happen out of the blue, things happen from a domino effect that was set in place because of your previous, although they seem minor and insignificant, actions. That's all i am really trying to push.

Physics (and science in general) = measurable, calculable

Applying physics to social phenomenon = pseudo-science
User avatar #173 - augustusxxiv (12/17/2011) [-]
That applies to physical objects though, not something like this where it's blind luck or "karma" that resulted in the guy getting two drinks for one, thus the guy who gave him the 50 cents getting a drink because of karma. I don't know.....I'm tired as fuck
User avatar #176 - mcrut (12/17/2011) [-]
But you don't get what i am saying, it does not necessarily apply to physical objects. You can have an action and have something happen later on that is a repercussion from that instance. I am not taking it out of context rather i am using it in such a way that it is as a metaphor. There is no such thing as luck or things just happening out of nowhere, there is a better word for that and it is called chance.
