you could always head for one of the three other areas that were opened up. honestly, i found the duke's archives to be hardest. maybe head for the catacombs first? honestly, you're a bit under-leveled for where you are, and boars are easiest to fight with weapons, anyway.

Pyromancies are their weakness. Throw a couple fireballs, or some kind of fire spell, It can stun them and deal massive damage.

Not that it will help you, but you can backstabb the piggys. Your character is literally shoving their weapon up the pigs ass.

Also, wear a ring of sacrifice for your first meeting with seath. Trust me.

just remember 2 things, NEVER KILL THE GODDESS IN ANOR LONDO. also seath gives you a wicked magic weapon if you chop his tail (will likely take you many tries

They can be a bitch to fight since it's such a cramped hallway and they're armored and deal a lot of damage. Easy way to get them though is to aggro one and lead it back to the entrance, they can't physically leave to go outside so you're free to hit them with whatever spells you want. Luckily they don't respawn.
