Never thought of that. Although it might clash if you use Lucario at some point. For me, Flaafy is great for status ailments. Paralysis and confusion at lvl 29.

Ampharos. You can get a Mareep pretty much right at the beginning of the game, a couple of routes earlier. So by the time you even get a Magnemite, Mareep is pretty strong.
