Actually I work with and have a lot of Mexican people as customers. Most I have encountered speak at least a little English, or are actively trying to learn it. They know for certain jobs and activities you need to at least know a little English. I feel like the people who complain about this is small. Most Mexican people know to get further in their jobs and life here, they should learn English because most people speak it here. I also know it's beneficial for me to know a little bit of Spanish since I live in California and we have a lot of immigrants.

I personally use livestreamer. It's terminal based, yes, calm down, the command line isn't that scary.

Once you have it installed, I just type in livestreamer url and a few seconds later, the stream pops up in my video player, in my case, mpv.io . Works with VLC and MPC-HC too.

The best part is that because it uses native players you have installed, it takes up way less CPU and RAM than a javascript based HTML5 player would, and thousands times better than an NPAPI or PAPI flash embed would work.

Similiarly, I use a firefox addon watch-with-mpv to watch youtube videos with the help of youtube-dl in mpv. Saves myself from browser slowdown to the point where I can go days without a browser restart before things start to slugg around.

OBS doesn't have an option to record to web and I was to lazy to convert that quick demo.

If you want to use your media player outside of the browser, you want livestreamer (or watch-with-mpv firefox addon) + youtube-dl installed + your media player. All three are needed.

If you want to embed your local player inside your browser like in >>#76, you need to be using linux, mozplugger installed + viewtube (as a greasemonkey script) + your media player.

Keep in mind that this is somewhat advanced shit, and you're going to have to RTFM a bit.
