well i can understand ur feelings with audiobooks. some of them are read in a less than ethusiatic manner. while some are good. and depends on where u want to start reading. one of the best for right after rotj is thrawn trilogy books. If like comics the dark empire comics which come right after thrawn trilogy are alright. although the legacy era comics (100+ years ABY) are good as well.

if want stories related to TOR or swtor xbox games . Anything about revan is good. Other good old republic stuff red harvest. and the darth bane trilogy

If want events leading up clone wars start with darth plagueis then work your way up (darth maul shadow hunter, rogue planet, jedi quest books, outbound flight etc)

Even some rebellion era stuff is good. Bounty hunter wars, tales from jabbas palace. death troopers

some early new reublic stuff is the xwing series books. Gives stories that dont revolve around luke leia han etc. also gives insight to how they took imperial center and solitified some of the hold on the galaxy after ROTJ

he does hate jedi and even though he ends up always against han solo he ends up tellign him later on the business with them was never personal. Mainly was a thing against the jedi

But in terms of why he helped train jaina. It was because jaicen killed his daughter while interrogating her. Force torture style. she happened to take a contract against the whole solo family put out by han's cousin thraken solo So boba fett did it to get his revenge basically

can never truly discount it,as its part of teh legends timeline if you want to be technical.
also dont confuse fan fic bs to the EU. All teh eu books comics games are all controlled by lucas group. There was a shit ton of work to keep things together. You couldnt just make a story up and expect it to be apart of the EU.

There is a reason why there was a specific group in lucas group ment to keeping the timeline correct. retconning things that needed it and makign sure everythign stayed linked together. Plus any books that had any major changes (chewbacca died) had to get approval by the lucas group

Watched CW, have knowledge of EU and played TOR. Personally not mad at all, so not sure why you are getting at.

Oh, that part. I agree, the movie was not perfect, but it was pretty satisfied, better than ROTJ in my opinion. On the topic of the pre republic EU I just go with the idea that if it is not directly retconned than it still happened(Revan, Great Hyperspace War, all that stuff.)
Now for the post OT EU... I got nothing.

By directly retconned I mean something happens OVER that event, like they take Kotor 1 for example, or Exar Kun or the Mandalorian Wars and place something else on that date
