In the new Marvel comics Darth Vader #1, Vader travels to Tatooine to talk some bizz with Jabba the Hutt then hires Boba Fett to find someone for him. He then proceeds to go and murder another tribe of sand people for old times sake.

Not sure if they're counting the comics as cannon but they're pretty good so far.
