That does sound nice, sort of like how physics questions are all relatively intuitive. For example, if you calculate that a jet is flying at 30 miles an hour, you know you messed your numbers up.

I remember I had to take a linear algebra class in tech school, which I failed twice. We'd get arbitrary numbers like "A particle is moving at a speed of 3." 3? Relative to what? Is this right? My math says it is, but I'm not sure. And then I'd use the same stuff on the homework and fuck up on the test.

I never took Linear. I took College Trig, Stats, and I'm taking Calc for my last semester as a Jr. I should have taken all of them sooner but I hate math.

Here's a protip: Don't. It's a senior-level engineering math class (which, by the way, this tech school was making us take as sophomores) with the sole intention of making you feel worthless and insignificant.

I wish I didn't have to take it at all but this next semester sounds the most ideal. I'm taking 2 classes that are economics centered, one of my specialties , an easy sounding specific-area science, and an elective. So I think I'll be safe to go ahead and take it this fall.

I love it when math books try to make math seem applicable to writing. No joke, this was in my textbook this past quarter.

"A self-published author uses the quadratic equation to determine how long their book should be and how much they should charge for it."

What.

Also, I was retaking algebra because I hadn't done it in nearly seven years and thus remembered none of it
User avatar #194 - manofbeardliness (05/02/2014) [-]
One thing about stats that I do like is that it's all applicable. All the questions are real life scenarios. Which for some reason makes me feel more adult considering how stupid questions were in past math courses.

MFW I'm an English major and I'm still supposed to take calculus
User avatar #186 - manofbeardliness (05/02/2014) [-]
Then again, it is a B.S so it's kind of expected... My University only requires up to College Pre-Cal and Trig for English majors which I still think is pushing it. If someone is majoring in English, than more often than not they either don't like or they're not good at math.

I also know that pain. I'm a Natural Resources-Policy & Administration major (environmental economics) and have to take, even though there is no practical application for it.

Wrong. Varial kickflip is a full rotation one way, and a half rotation the other way, like a 180 shuvit and a kickflip combined.

A tre flip is a full rotation both ways, like a kickflip and a 360 shuvit combined.

But yeah, that is a varial kickflip and not a tre flip as far as i can see

Hope that clarifies something

User avatar #73 - MrRock (05/02/2014) [-]
correction: bitchyouabitch was right, varial flip has a 180 degree board rotation with a full flip, while 360 flips, aka tre flips, have a 360 degee board rotation and a full flip. Basically, one your board turns more.

The tip included in the bill sounds reslly weird to my European ears. It means i have to tip even if the waiter dropped the soup in my lap, so why should he try harder?
User avatar #280 - manofbeardliness (05/01/2014) [-]
It's kind of bullshit, but it's an efficient way to make the general public pay company employees. The shittiest part is that the tip is mainly included in classier restaurants so they have the money to pay their employees more but they leave that up to the people eating there. It really isn't that common though, only certain restaurants do that.

Several states still have constitutions that explicitly forbid Atheists from holding office, over half of America say they would never vote for an Atheist, and Atheists are the most distrusted group in America. You'd be lucky to get onto a city council at the most.

A huge number of Americans believe in intelligent design or creationism. Your particular area doesn't change the national trend.

My dad's been and said it was beautiful. I'm more of a tropical/subtropical person, I don't like being cold for long periods. I'll go snowboarding and camp in the mountains but a week or two is about it.
