It's like regular counting:
> 00; start at 0.
> 09; count to 9 in the first space to the right.
> 10; count up by one in the next space to the left for every time you count to 9 in a given space.
> 19; reach 9 in the first space again.
> 20; count up by one again in the next space to the left after reaching 9 in the first space again, bringing it to "2".
> Binary is the same as regular counting, except you start over at just 1 instead of 9.

I took a computer class my first year of college, so I get the basics. Other than that though, I don't really pay attention to it enough to care to learn it. I'm not really tech savy.

The shitty thing is you're paying thousands on going to school just to work an unpaid internship and cross your fingers on getting hired.

yeah, it´s location and surroundings factors based ... i, myself, curse a lot more, than i wanted, but i was raised to not curse in a presence of older or higher positioned person... although, i think i dont curse more than my collegues, but we are, in major, from the same region ... but generaly, at our universities, cursing is kinda taboo (at least at chemical, biological, eng. and other science subjects, i don´t know the course in classes at philosophical faculties [my uni is strictly science based], some poeple are saying, that these faculties are more "free"), in fact, i think that our unies are sometimes TOO MUCH polite ... i've even heard, that at largest eng. university in my country, people are tend to refer to each other with BcE. titles, which, for me, as an owner of one, sounds RIDICULOUS
User avatar #110 - manofbeardliness (05/03/2014) [-]
I've been working on how much I curse. You just get used to it when you're around peers and friends and it becomes routine. I didn't know how much I cussed until someone pointed it out. Majors have a little to do with it as well. I'm doing (what is essentially) environmental economics because of that I've had to take a lot of different classes in different departments. The Econ classes I've taken has had more students and professors cussing than the environmental conservation and sciences I've taken. Econ has more cold/logical minded people, conservation has had more environmentalists and fucking hippies , and environmental science has had more, well science minded students. It's safe to say there's a myriad of factors involved.

yeah, well, sorry about that, it's a stupid question in a retrospective ... tbh, i've heard about some tutors on other universities in my country, that swear a lot, but i still think that these are minorities, individual cases ... so i guess the answer to my question is, that it's not a general, national matter
User avatar #104 - manofbeardliness (05/03/2014) [-]
Don't sweat it. Location is probably a big factor in it. I'm from North Carolina and for the most part people are raised to say yes sir, no sir, and to be as respectful as you can to someone in a higher position than yourself. So usually it's like a mutual given that people act a certain way toward the professor vice-versa. At the same time, before transferring to NC State, I got my associates from a community college Because saving thousands of dollars outweighs stroking my ego . There was a lot more cursing from both students and associate professors, and people acted less uniform and polite. So it's all about location location location.
