Gee, I thought we were talking about guns here, not "did you kno" type of deal.

It's incredibly easy to find out what type of round a rifle uses by a simple search, you don't need to be an expert on that.

I realise this. So You'll simply have to take it on faith that I didn't. I never said I was an expert, just someone with a bit of experience. You have to realise that it isn't as simply as putting some parts together, it take a level of precision and knowledge that you could honestly probably pick up in a few moments. I mean I built that thing at 14. So it isn't rocket science. But it's not something simple. But I'm not an idiot. I'm a slight idiot. But not when it comes to guns.

Still find it hard to believe you're a gunsmith with little knowledge about guns.

Hell, I don't even know that much about them, all I know are from arma and what not.
#260 - manninex (07/30/2014) [-]
Well I know significantly more than Arma and significantly more than you. I was just saying that the wording (.50 Barrett) was weird to me. I know very well that the stereotypical Barrett rifle fires a .50 Browning Machine Gun cartridge. Did you you that Barrett also make's their own proprietary .416 caliber round. Or how about the M98B, chambered in .338 Lapua? Did you know that Ronnie Barrett built the M82 on a dare? And that it was original a bullpup rifle with a stock that was designed to fit somewhat over the shoulder?

Don't say I know little when you've only seen a little blunder.

A gunsmith is generally somebody who actually builds the guns out of metal you know. Not a person who just puts together a gun from parts.

Then call it a repair job. Still technically qualifies as gunsmithing. And the AK isn't my only work. I have another AK (that isn't fully together because I don't have a press for the barrel) and my grandfather's old non-functioning M1897 shotgun that is now functioning.
