Nope, it's North River Pier 88 a the New York Cruise Terminal. The Ship in the background is the Norwegian Gem, whose home port is in Manhattan, the same place that the pier is located. It would not sail that far inward. The Canadian boat may, but the cruise ship would not.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Wankel Engines basically Rotary Engines?

The Wankel Rotary Engine is the proper name. In other words...

that sounds crazy enough to work! you could make much more effective small engines
#27 - manninex (07/09/2013) [-]
It does work. One example would be the engine in the Mazda Furai. Other everyday cars like the Mazda 8 and some motorcycles use them, too.

Well they are pretty much the only ones to put it into widespread use, so that should be expected.

Because Mazda knows how to make engines. Even on their more affordable models like the Mazda3, the SkyActiv engine is awesome.

Are you sure?
Appose -
1. to place side by side, as two things; place next to; juxtapose.
2. to put or apply (one thing) to or near to another.
Oppose -
4. to be hostile or adverse to, as in opinion: to oppose a resolution in a debate.
Adverse -
4. opposite; confronting: the adverse page.

This is a difficult problem.
"Circle wheel, next to square wheel."
"Circle wheel, opposite the square wheel."

I think "apposed" probably best fits since you saying that the use of "circle" in "circle wheel" is redundant and in the use of "opposed" you are saying that they are both real when there is no such thing as a square wheel. I know Mythbusters did those square tires, but you get what I mean.
#15 - manninex (07/08/2013) [-]
Yes, the phrase is 'as opposed to', which means in contrast to. Google it, you'll see.

As for the square wheels, they do in fact exists, just not for practical uses as a walrus and another guy figured out.
As opposed to is just a phrase that I am fond of.

the point of hollow points is to punch through unarmored targets. if ya want to have something go through body armor or armor plating, use an armor piercing round.

#10 - manninex (06/23/2013) [-]
Well keep in mind that it is going 1,050 feet per second (a .45 will go this speed), so if it is soft like a watmel or a human body, it will penetrate. On body armor and other hard things it will not work as well.

You could fire an atom into another atom at 3,800 mph and because of electromagnetism, they would never touch. The Magnetrons use this on a much larger scale. A single one, given enough time, could lift a medium building out of its foundations into the air.
And further more, I have dealt with nuclear missiles before. All it takes is a bit of "persuasion".
