Literally nothing is going to stop the Navy from using nuclear.
And I was told the pay is better on a sub than, say, a carrier, because you're crammed in a small metal tube for months on end.

Looking now, yeah. You may a little bit more. Like my flight pay, I get $150 a month for being on flying status. It looks like you start off with $75 extra a month. Or $75 extra per whatever. I'm not sure how taxation works with that too. I'm taxed normally until I deploy, then it's zero taxes.

Ah, I'm going for Nuclear Engineering, hoping I get on a Sub, I hear the pay is best and it's the least work.

Pay in the military doesn't really change. There's special incentives and bonus pay, but it all stays the same. I make like 1800 a month before taxes, but I'm getting flight pay because I'm aircrew. Then like food money that I hardly touch because I'm a wee bit stingy.

I'm not sure how the Navy pays incentive things. You may get some type of hazard pay for working around radiation or some junk like that. That'll be a nice degree to have, hopefully people don't get too scared of nuclear reactors between now and you getting it though.
