Ok, point taken, but what I mean is that in order to save your own progress in a VR game that you have to go out to play somewhere, you'd have to create an account and have them save it for you, which I can't see coming without some sort of price or subscription.

Or perhaps you would have an account with them (like a membership card) and when you go to play you scan your card and you player profile is downloaded, along with any saves. Its like you could pay a one time membership fee and then pay a fee every time you use the facility. So similar to going to an arcade now, or a paintball field or something.

Sounds good to me.

probably get to game shop, drop say $5 to play for a hour, progress saved to the cloud, would be the simplest and would definately enable the host to make money at that pricing

right about that. wonder what that would be like, MMOs with subscriptions

I'll just stop digging before the hole gets any deeper...

The point I'm trying to make is that this wouldn't be a normal MMO subscription; this would be a subscription to the venue that you would play the game at, for them to save and hold your profile, on top of any price you'd have to play to actually book a time to go and play.
It would probably be far above the average MMO subscription price and be more like a gym membership.

I think probably the game progress would be saved via cloud storage or server-side, like they do currently to prevent people modifying their data. I do sincerely this time completely agree though that paying for machine time would be incredibly expensive and it really would be considered a luxury for quite a long time

I agree, and thats part of the reason why Trump has gained so much support. But in my opinion, I would rather have a leader who speaks and writes like and educated man and not a middle schooler.
