To be fair, it was stage four when she was diagnosed. It had fully taken her liver and was then in her lung, stomach, colon, pancreas, and kidneys. I came home from work last June 19th and she was solid yellow from jaundice (although she had shown no symptoms before). I got her to the hospital around 11am and the diagnosis came back at 5pm. She lived exactly one month from then, passing away on July 19th.

Its not the fact that Forrest is stupid that gets my goat about the movie, its that LITERALLY everything that could possibly go right for forrest goes right. Hes like Murphy's law in reverse. All the good shit happens to him not cuz of any significant effort on his part, mainly more on pure literal dumb luck.

His best friend, "Bubba", bled out in his arms on a beach in a foreign land.

"I want to go home now, Forrest."

People who have that argument make me suspicious that they never watched the movie.

He lost his best friend, Mother and the woman he loves the most.

He obviously does not care about money or any material goods, he lost the 3 things and people in his life that he values most. Not everything went his way.

Really? Because I'm pretty sure he earned some of those things. He got the medal from saving his teammates + getting shot, then he got on the ping pong team from practicing every single day he was in hospital, then he got rich from going out in his shrimp boat when every other boat was in the dock + saving the life of lieutenant Dan who'd make th e investment. Then he got national celebrity status by inspiring people to follow him.

When you watch Private Ryan I think a stigma clicks in your brain

That Hanks is either great at improv

or you expect Hanks to be outperforming everyone and here he is nonperforming

He isn't performing? Forrest Gump is a slow, gentle, caring, and gullible individual. Hanks hit the nail on the head. What did you want him to be? Just drooling all over himself or a human calculator. Some people with Autism simply are slow. They can interact normally. There is a grey area in the spectrum and Hanks plays that character.
