I think the reason Fairy Tail is still near and dear to me is because it helped me not be so sad when my previous girlfriend and I broke up. By the time I stopped watching it, I was feeling a lot better. Plus I love the premise.

There are plenty of secrets, special weapons etc in Skyrim (Shalidor's Maze, Red Eagle's fury, etc). Quest markers are a good thing because it means you actually know where the fuck you're supposed to go and you can turn them off anyways. Using them doesn't make you an idiot; not all of us can be MLG pro, you know. No markers in Morrowind was just a ploy to make the game last longer than it should have, giving a false sensation of getting your money's worth, which you didn't because the graphics and mechanics are unbearably bad. I don't care how good the story is; if the game is unplayable, story means jack shit.

True, Skyrim has its fair share of good dungeons and you named a couple. I disagree on the quest markers though; they make me feel like I'm just mindlessly following beacon rather than me having to use my deductions skills a bit, and turning them off makes it impossible to find some people/locations because it isn't mentioned where you're supposed to go in dialogue or the journal, and honestly the theory of not using quest markers to make the game last longer doesn't sound right to may. I feel like they did that to make it more immersive, or maybe they simply didn't think to do it.
I don't think your opinion is invalid though. Some people prefer better gameplay mechanics, animations, and graphics over immersion, variety, and story, and vice versa. To each his own, I say.
