according to the department of labor Tennessee doesn't have a state minimum wage, and therefore there is no minimum to what you can earn in Tennessee(within reason)... bro i feel sorry for you lol

well...I don't work there anymore, and I don't make minimum wage anymore. However, where I do work, it's posted that the state minimum wage for hourly work is either $7.25/hour or $2.13/hr+tips. But if you don't make your tips =to your hours worked then your boss gets bitchy at you because they have to pay whatever money you didn't make.

At least here in wisconsin our payment for servers doesn't work like that either. If servers don't make minimum wage with their tips they are given the difference in money it takes to get them to minimum wage. Otherwise if they do make min wage, tips are just extra.

Not in CA. The wage laws there are different. It's not legal there to pay a server reduced wages and let her supplement it with tips. So the least she will earn will be Min wage, tips are just icing on the cake.
