Their blood violently reacts with the presence of pathogens in the water so if attacked or damaged they instantaneously seal off from anything that could cause infections or make them sick. This is why we utilize their blood for use in testing vaccines. once the batches are made samples are taken and the blood is added to ensure no mistakes were not made that could lead to the vaccine being capable of spreading the pathogen rather than providing a practice vesicle for our memory T cells to store information about the marker and signalling proteins on the cells surface in order to gain an immunity from.

The blood is so expensive because breeding these creatures successfully is challenging due to the ecological factors we are still attempting to recreate. There is a current farm being set up with high hopes for success but it takes 15 years for the offspring to become viable for bleeding.
If you had the resources to do so you would become extraordinarily rich.

#64 - vlrgll (03/08/2015) [-]
No

There is absolutely no point in which your blood is ever blue. Depending on how oxygenated it is, it will appear between a deep, dark red or a bright red, almost pink.

Hemoglobin is the protein that carries the oxygen by bonding it to an iron molecule. The process that creates rust(iron oxide) is the same process our bodies take advantage of to deliver oxygen throughout our bodies.

Your veins arent actually blue either. They only appear that way looking at them because the blue wavelengths of light are more successful at penetrating your skin than other wavelengths of light.

I'm not him but I can fill the role.

OP has a point, the idea of capitalism (true capitalism, not corporate cronyism) is that if you wish to gain wealth, you must first serve the needs/wants of another. Capitalism assumes that people are basically greedy, not because they are 'evil' but because they naturally seek what is in their own best interest. As such, capitalism aims to take that greed and direct it in a productive manner that benefits society.

The reason people are so quick to frown upon capitalism is because they see the problems inherent in America today and assume it is representative of capitalism. On the contrary, the system has largely devolved into corporate cronyism, which is not the direct result of capitalism but of over-regulation and corrupt politics in business. Government meddling has thrown a huge wrench in the workings of the free market, giving unfair power to the politically connected, while making it increasingly more difficult for the rest of us to keep up. The founding fathers are rolling in their graves, and we have only ourselves to blame.

>history fag here

Capitalism and pure liberalism of the markets created some of the worst situation for the masses in humankind history. The industrial revolution saw the large part of the population live in absolutly horrendeous condition to serve such liberalism.

Syndicate was forbidden, as contrariy to the principles of liberalism; work regulations too.

Capitalism HAS to be regulated in some ways. To let it go freely, basing yourself on the fact that "greed is good" has been proven that it is not viable.

Not saying capitalism is a bad thing, but pure liberalism is certainly a great danger for a great majority of the people.
User avatar #47 - freedombirdman (03/08/2015) [-]
This is where history gets complicated.
Assuming you are speaking of the English industrial revolution, yes, living conditions were pretty terrible. However it is often assumed that the standard of living dropped dramatically during this time (this is the predication on which Marx based his Communist Manifesto); on the contrary, the standard of living was on the rise. The people of Europe were just emerging from the grips of the fuedal era, which was hardly unicorns and roses, in fact it was even more horrendous from a mortality and tyrannical oppression standpoint. The reason for the 'orphan crisis' during the revolution was because so many more babies were surviving past infancy thanks to this increased standard of living. It was by no means a cakewalk, but industry and urbanization did marginally improve the living standard, despite urbanization bringing its own issues. Roughly he same thing happened with the American industrial revolution: times were shitty, but they were less shitty than before. Arguably, the advances made during the industrial eras of both America and Europe paved the way for many of the technologies than allow us to live in such comfort today.

I'm not going to try to explain everything, for that would take the span of a few books. My main point is that the industrial revolution is often cited as a prime example of 'the failure of capitalism' when it is in reality much more complex than that.
User avatar #48 - ocnamesaregone (03/08/2015) [-]
Can't say I agree

This part of history did see "better living condition" on some point; there were in fact more persons, a demographic growth, but it doesn't mean that the way to live was human at all.

I'm mostly pointing that raw and pure liberalism isn't good. If you want capitalism to work properly, you can't really base your system on that. The theory as a whole isn't however challenged by it. It's something we have to keep in mind when people which for more liberalism.

On another note, capitalism tends to create oligarchy; elitism ensue, and I don't believe it's recomendable. Not saying it discredits the system, but it is some side-effects that must be attended to.

I think that capitalism, just like communism, can be a viable option; for both options can be applied, although very differently and facing very different challenges, which I think capitalism tackled better.
It isn't by any means a "perfect" solution, is mainly what I'm trying to say.
User avatar #49 - freedombirdman (03/08/2015) [-]
Fair enough. As I always say, capitalism may not be the perfect system; but it has brought about the greatest progress and innovation in all of human history, so it must be doing something right.
User avatar #52 - ocnamesaregone (03/08/2015) [-]
The cost of which progress was made isn't something to turn a blind eye to though.

Look at the US, it's not too bad of a picture. Same for developped country.

But as for the rest of the world, can't say I'm impressed...

I like socialism a lot more than capitalism, equality is more interesting than freedom at the point we're at; there can't be true freedom without some equality and, just like Nelson Mandela said, poverty is the root of all evil (or of a LOT of problems at the very least), which seems to be better approached by equality-driven politics than something about freedom, especially economically speaking.

We've been over this, man. Your offer is piss poor. Not only are you trying to buy from someone who is not trying to sell, but you are trying to buy my best items. Your offer better be goddamn immaculate for me to even consider it. You are one step away from me blocking you, so you better use your last chance well.
