She didn't come in guns blazing, she came in with her gun drawn and pointed at the suspect. He lunged for her gun and she started shooting. I agree she rushed into the bus without full control of the situation but as soon as a suspect starts trying to grab at a police officers weapon, said suspect is going to get shot. Period.

RIGHT, so aiming guns at people that's not being violent is fine, just as long as you have a badge, and fuck your rights, and my rights, and let's just get some plastic badges and start jumping people with semi-automatic handguns, if they resists, we'll shoot them, and call it self defence, I MEAN they went after the gun we were pointing at them, so that means that they were about to become a deadly danger, fuck the fact that if we never put that gun in their faces they wouldn't become a deadly danger, who gives a rats ass? they are now, so let's just put six bullets in them, in case they didn't get the fucking point.

Yes, I can't make more emphasis on how much I understand THAT PART.
What I don't understand is why was a gun pointed at him, in such a chaotic situation, when he wasn't being violent.
Watch the video again please, 2:45, tell me if you think that what the female officer did is the right thing to do, keep in mind she's supposed to be trained for situations like this.
Tell me that she didn't just LITERALLY jump the gun and jumped on that bus screeching creating a chaotic situation, that could have MAYBE just maybe put the deranged guy on an even more sharp edge than he already was, leading to him making a stupid action like perhaps getting the gun pointed at him out of his face, and maybe buy just maybe in the confusion and in between the woman screeching he didn't react to just saying "i surrender" like he should have.
Now with all of that in mind, we have on the one hand, a mental patient, on the other a police officer, who would you expect to do the right thing?

I understand what you are saying, but the truth is that you don't have the same information that the responding officers did. You have no idea what the call came in as. Did she respond more aggressively that I would have given the information that I have? Yes, I think so, but again I don't have all the information that she does and she didn't watch a video of this man on the bus ranting and raving like a lunatic.
Even crazy people, temporarily crazy people, people made crazy due to drug use are responsible for their actions in the moment.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree then, to me a more trained officer would have avoided such a confrontation, the guy had just helped a woman off the bus in front of her, he clearly wasn't being violent, maybe it's one of those "you had to be there situations".
I'll tell you what tho, I recently (about a month or so ago) had a confrontation on a bus, with three coke heads, they had a window opened, its winter here, it was 8 am it was cold as fuck, I was with a three friends, two girls one guy, I was sleeping on my seat, I woke up to the ruckus they created talking, I said nothing, I asked them politely to close the window, one of them refused to which I just replied with a "nah, you should really just close it now" Five or so minutes later, I wake up to two of these guys on my face, telling me how I'll get off the bus naked, and what not, and one asking me what I said in a low voice, I think I spent two minutes and dodged a spit or two trying to tell them to just get off the bus if that's what they were going to do, the driver did nothing, said nothing, when they started talking about punching me, I told them to just chill, and it wasn't until they threw the first punch that I started defending myself, I'm a big guy, and I kicked their asses, ended up throwing them off the bus, and some people with kids had to get off the bus, I just think that if me, a regular guy, had this much patience and calm mind with three obviously coked up guys, to have a two minute one sided rational argument with them, why wouldn't a trained officer at least try to use words on a guy that's clearly nonviolent. We're all different I understand that, but still I don't approve of that abuse of power, I had some confrontation with cops, even a coked up cop once that another cop came to take away (looong time ago) and I just can't stand it, when this shit happens.

A truck was designed to be used to take things from one place to another.
A gun was designed to KILL. Dumbnut. If we take your argument, we would need to ban forks and sticks and rocks, too.

A truck was made to go over rough terrain while carrying cargo. If the terrain is a bad road that is very long and the cargo is your amazon dildo, it's the Truck doing it's job. If the terrain hapens to be other people, it's a tragedy.
A gun was made to deliver a projectile to the intended target. If your projectile is a paintbal to hit your friend or a bottle, it's the gun doing it's job. If your projectile is a hot piece of lead and it hits a person it's not supposed to hit, it's a tragedy.
Shit happens, bans are fucking gay.

More guns are used by civilians to prevent crime than commit crime.
