Really it depends on where you are teaching. If you are in a bad area then it will be troublesome. And the liberals and conservatives in England vs. America are way different, so here what happened is the conservatives mostly identify with the Republican party and they tried to set some national standards back in Bush's term, and the liberals DID identify with Democrats, but currently the lines between liberal and progressive are blurred so much that they are basically the same thing in America and they have ran with the idea of making nation standards into the ground, and I'd like the emphasize that that is IN America, so people with a classical liberal mindset have basically either sided with third parties that get no recognition, like libertarians, or have fallen off the political compass. It's sad really and nation is paying for it. Not this election, but hopefully in the next election something will be done. This election is already fucked.

What really sucks about it is that I teach Honors classes and it's 9th grade, so there's plenty of students that are fresh from middle school that were clearly placed in the wrong the wrong class, so I've asked the school administration and the head of the science department to move those students to regular and they won't do anything because were in common core and in core every level teaches the same thing so I'm told there's nothing that would change the way those students would handle the material so now I'm screwed because it fucks up my averages for my classes. Half the class is getting A's and the other half is getting F's, and not like 50's but like 10's and 20's. You can literally take any of my tests that are multiple choice and guess any single letter and do better than a 10. I really like teaching for the students that enjoy learning. But the students that are basically purposely failing are hurting themselves, my class averages, thus my school, my school district, and ultimately the nation. The current attitude of apathy is sickening and the current affairs of the nation really reflects the effects.

I've never actually looked to see. That's a good question. But they probably do.
