 We could use hexadecimal system. It would take very much less space to write it down and we can easily break it down to base 4 and base 2 systems for even easier counting. And it would make IT easier. Hell we could make some 100 base system. It would be easier to learn with our decimal system, and when you remember all digits, you will calculate big numbers faster and save way more space for example 10 written in 100 base system is 100 in decimal. 100 is 10000. 2 times less zeroes.  You misunderstand the purpose of counting system. Larger base =/= better. 12 would be good because every 12th number is divisible by 2,3,4,6, and 12. 16 would also be good because of all of the factors. This makes dividing into different portions easy, but a dozen is small enough that you can still count on your hands (knuckles). Base 100 is worthless because you would need to memorize 100 characters. Would it compact the number? Yes, astronomically. But our brains aren't wired to weigh 100 arbitrary characters against each other. | ||

If you're going to the Keys or Marathon Islands, you'll be just fine with just a bit of rain, but rain is fickle down here, so who knows, the weather might suddenly screw us over.  I've never taught in a school. But I did some tutoring for basic computer work on a few kids around the age of 10-14 over school holidays as extra work a teacher of mine offered me. Obviously I've never had the issues you seem to have but you get some rotten kids sometimes. Overall I would do it again, most of the time the kids were really friendly. You just have to have some common sense and know when to be firm and when to be friendly. | ||

A kid came in high one time, still smelling like he just smoked and I called the office and they knew, but the secretary said it's better that he's in school than on the streets. They don't even discipline for language anymore either. The reason I get a lot of ESE (special) and delinquent classes is because I might sign up to cover an honors science class or something, but they will move me to one of the other classes because someone needs to be in one of those classrooms vs. honors kids, ya know. Also I live in Florida, near Tampa, so there's a good amount of hispanic gang communities and at some schools they even keep lists of which students are in which gangs. But overall I like subbing.
