| This is FJ. People don't care about whether or not the facts are relevant, only if the popular opinions are enforced. no, fj does care about facts sometimes. But not when you insult everyone on the site with that prejudice labeling you gave all of us, just now Insult? How was that an insult? Yes, I admit that I said that people on FJ don't care whether facts are relevant. Now I absolutely detest Bieber in every way imaginable, but do you remember the Justin Beiber photo of him and the Prime Minister? Everyone was quick to give him shit for how he dressed, without taking the chance to find out that it was because he was surprised by the Prime Minister before a show? Do you think the majority of FJ cared whether or not the principle's a free speech should be protected in the U.S., or that this was just another pro-Canada post? Do you think anyone cared when the New Zealand post about how New Zealand was the #1 country in the world when it came to freedom because of one test? That people didn't clamor at the opportunity to say, "Ha ha America" before taking the chance to check out the credentials of what the test was about? No. This is a site for humor, not one for education. I don't mind, I said what I expected because that's the truth. If you don't think that there isn't bias on the internet than that's quite foolish. The majority of people are going to thumb down things they don't agree with, just take the comment you're replying to for example. This isn't the first time someone has said this. There's nothing wrong with that, but don't go crying about something you're only further proving the point for. i like your points and I share some of those views, but look more closely at how you are phrasing it. you seem more antagonizing when you group all of us in one pile and write us all off as a group of people who all think one way. It is the tone of your reply to ludislavonac that seems off putting to people who feel that they are not a part of the group you described. It is like saying 'you people' to an individual. your first reply to me was good. I liked it. your other ones? meh. the vibe is kind of bad. | ||

| It doesn't really matter what we spend it on. Also, it's a little unfair to call that stuff trivial. To many women, video games and stuff we like probably seem pretty trivial too. That what they enjoy, why do we get to call it a waste of money? Video games stimulate our intellect, and require thinking. Owning a handbag doesn't. | ||

fabelousnagger (03/18/2013) [-] **fabelousnagger rolled a random image posted in comment #89 at Epic Troll ** I guess most people just buy it for brand I asked just asked why they picked a Iphone over other brand? it is answerd with"because it is better" but everytime we get to the "what is better" most of them can't answer it or we have it on other smartphones to do it better only real legit answer so far is that it synch well with other apple product that is nice same go with mac, I cry on the inside when I see people get a mac and not even open the terminal once and only use it for facebook ....... what people use their money on is not my concern but buying brand for it name kinda tell how much they care what people around them think ...instead of care what they really buy (atleast try to see what you can use it for) I call bullshit. I have an HTC EVO from like 2 years ago and I've always been able to get upto 3 1/2 days out of the battery, even now and it's still the stock battery! I'm sorry that no one calls you. I would hug you but, internet. Not that's taking about 3-4 15 minutes calls a day...but i guess i can see how you might get that impression. here: 3-4 calls a day light internet use over the duration, on 3G, mostly for google searches GPS off, Brightness low(no auto), wireless off, 3G off, vibration/touch vibe off, animations off, background data off, and wtih the newest update i had to find the setting that was turning my wifi on every time I passed a wifi router in town. :D I know I'm probably forgetting something but oh well you get the idea. No one ever texts you. My little cheap toss-away phone will last a week with daily 1hr calls and the ridiculous amounts of texts I get. Oh see I knew i forgot something LOL. yeah texts all day, but those hardly use any CPU/power. Well I don't have a cheap burner. I like being able to have full internet and GPS on a nice big screen with great sound quality to boot. :P http ://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/510EMVjdKBL._SL500_SS500_.jpg I suck a owning phones so I have to get cheap ones. Oh god...my brother is a broke felon and he was given one of these a while back and he hated it lol

| That is why google helped to refine it through the development of Android. linux gets easier to use every year, and yet people refuse to have that much freedom, just for a little ease of use right out of the box. lol #103

angelusprimus (03/18/2013) [-] I don't like linux for several reasons. 1: Barely any professional software. I do most of my work in AutoCAD, and linux alternatives are... lets be generous and say bad. 2: Lack of entertainment. One of... what 100, 200 games comes to linux? 3: Amount of work I had to put in to make even software that does exist work (admittedly that was five years ago) half the software I needed came uncompiled, other 30 percent required major tweaks to work properly and only 20 percent worked well. 4: General unhelpfulness of those that do use it. Linux users are least helpful users anywhere. Whenever I needed help with something (not often but it does happen) I had to basically beg to get even basic information. Only trick that worked was getting into a linux chatroom and saying "Linux sucks, it can't even..." and then 50 people would be trying to make it work to prove it can work. 4: Obnoxiousness of the users. Linux users self satisfied superior attitude makes apple users seem humble. You could have just booted up a virtual machine with Windows and done everything you needed there without ANY problems but its solely your fault that you're not capable of such simple things. Congratulations you are the perfect target for apple to sell you their " easy to use shit " #136

angelusprimus (03/18/2013) [-] When you are working with autoCAD on major projects loss of performance you get with virtual machine can cost you time you really can't afford. One day you will grow up, get a job and learn what "deadline" means, and you will see that you can't afford to play around with virtual machines because every tiny second of calculation is important. Same with games. I enjoy playing new generation games which suffer horribly from performance loss in virtual machine. So yes, I am very much capable of running a virtual machine on a linux computer, but that would not solve my problems. And if I have to do 90% of what I do on linux in a virtual machine under loss of performance, why the hell would I need to use linux in a first place? And thank you for proving the point 4. Why did you install Linux in the first place then? If you want it so badly just make a Dual Boot. If not Windows is the way to go. Plus If you work you can surely afford a PC that is capable of splitting your cores well enough for the " performance " you seek #138

angelusprimus (03/18/2013) [-] I installed it several times to try it out. First time in 1998 my friends were telling me how superior it is to windows. It wasn't. At that time it didn't even have drag and drop functionality figured out. Second time I dual booted it in 2001 (or 2002 not sure), I was involved in helping develop an open source machine translation program and everyone involved was telling me how awesome it is. It was ok, for what I needed in university, but after project ended I realized that I am spending more and more time on programs that won't run in linux and when i changed the computer didn't bother installing it. And last time I installed it in 2008, after microsoft fucked me over on a "deal" and didn't want to use microsoft products anymore, and used it for about a year. Then I got my current job and it became cubersome and impractical. And I tried virtual machines, wine, I tried linux copies of autoCAD like Creo, FreeCAD and Arichmedes, but they are baaaad. So yeah, "easy to use out of the box" never mattered to me. I haven't bought a computer in one piece since the nineties, but i am not a hobbyist or a college kid. I need functionality, stability and acessability that linux just does not provide. Ohh man first world problems. You're just wasting time here arguing with someone over the internet. Use what is the best for you, and if you got screwed over by a deal why making deals anymore pirate that shit.
