 it's quite the opposite actually. Rapid freezing causes formation of ice crystals, which would result in the ice not being transparent. This took a long ass time to freeze to be that clear  Actually, i believe the opposite is true, clear ice is made by freezing it slowly, otherwise the changes in size and pressures building up in the ice cause cracks before the ice can completely set. Also, when they make clear ice they boil the water first to remove the CO2 and oxigen dissolved in the water, that wil also make it foggy. So maybe it's a very still standing lake. | ||
