i see that whole thing below here, and i read most of it. My summation of the whole blue name thing:
Depending on how attached one is to an account, they have more to lose the longer they've had it, so in this users position doing something possibly ban-worthy may or may not be a risk. I personally would dread losing my account not because of my history of commenting and thumbs and such, but because i am seriously attached to my username and would not want it changed!
So yeah, it is the content or comments, but the blueness is just like thumbs. it's really meaningless in the end, but it's nice to have!

Ah, well that seems to be a carrydown from the whole "oldfag" thing that you find on 4chan and elsewhere. It doesn't necessarily mean someone is wiser, better, funnier or otherwise, but it means they have more experience in a way, they have seen more.
Another point is that there has to be a reason they've made it as far as they have. why would they suddenly decide to do something risking it? "Hey bluename, you know better right?! what are you thinking!?!?!?"
So on, so forth

Don't understand why that would matter or why anyone would even care if they were bluer than someone.
And it has been a pretty massive deal for some people. There was some people throwing little bitch fits for the fact there names aren't as blue as they used to be.
I wasn't trying to make it a big just can't understand why anyone cares.

If 8 out of 100 doctors say eating broccoli for every meal is good for you, while 2 out of 98 claim it's healthy to eat steak for every meal, a lot of people will set their brains to believeing the two doctors, and stubbhornly claim that the others are wrong, because it's more convenient or desireable. They will find arguments to claim all the scientists or doctors wrong, even though it's pretty obvious all those scientists and doctors knows more about the subject than they do, but when all the people who want the two scientists to be right get together and come up with arguments (useally false arguments) for them to be right, and in their minds, they make themselves right, by claiming it enough.

I can't really blame people for that. I do it myself everyday, when deciding simple things. I'll make up completely illogical reasons to convince myself that I don't have to do things that need to be done.
Btw, have you heard of "En folkefiende" by Ibsen? It takes up this very subject, and it has been made into a film recently, I believe.

Honestly I don't even know what that says.
I truly don't understand that though.
Just do shit that needs done then do whatever I want. That is how I work why would you try to convince yourself to not do stuff that needs to be done??
or if there are thing that I know should be done and I really don't wanna do it, I just don't fucking do it. I don't need illogical reasons to do or not do things.
