FDR was the fucking shit. Do you know how badass you have to be to be known only by your initials? He was a brilliant leader who did his best to relieve the Great Depression, and was notable for not being tied to ideals and just trying what worked. He was a pragmatist, and even invited Keynes himself to the White House. Furthermore, he was a brilliant wartime president. If your teacher points out that he was the closest any American president has been to Socialism, retort by saying that his high government spending was what helped relieve the Depression, and when he cut government spending, the "Roosevelt Recession" happened. Yes, he wasn't amazing (court stuffing) but he was all-in-all a great president.
But really, what I'd wish people do is be less bipartisan. There are good liberal presidents and good conservative presidents; I'll openly admit that Ronald Reagan was a pretty stellar president.

this comment is pretty damn stellar. i would say FDR isn't the best president, but certainly isn't bad. my teacher does say he's a socialistic president, and I see both sides of the argument. beautiful comment, sir
