majordraco (05/12/2013) [-] They say your brain shuts down all motor abilities while you're asleep, and in this state you wake, but you do not regain motor abilities. The brain, still waking from a deep sleep, makes sense of this by creating a scenario to explain your apparent paralysis. The scenario most often created is "the old hag". My old hag looked something like this crossed with the wicked witch. I have since talked to my mom and she told me she used to have nightmares of a very similar woman. So strange that it just cuts off all motary function like that. | I couldn't move for a few minutes, not until she was gone. When I was finally able to move yes, I was very weak and tingly feeling. I mean like when you were un-able to get up or flip your covers off or something, when you're un-able to move did you feel a tingle in the limb that was stuck? Or were you numb? I just wanna compare with people. I felt like I was being held down all over, although she never touched me, I could not move at all, not even scream. I felt no sensations in any of my limbs. | I sometimes get sleep paralysis. I feel like I can't breathe and I always see bright flashes of light. I hate it. I have a reoccurring one where I'm lying in bed upside down, as in a 180 turn from my original state. I hear loud coughing noises from multiple mouths outside my door that get really loud, like they're getting closer. The handle turns but is doesn't open and that's always the point at which I wake up. It's horrific. It seems that it's always a nightmare doesn't it? When you tried to move, did it feel like you had pins and needles in the body party you tried moving? I couldn't move for a few minutes, not until she was gone. When I was finally able to move yes, I was very weak and tingly feeling. I mean like when you were un-able to get up or flip your covers off or something, when you're un-able to move did you feel a tingle in the limb that was stuck? Or were you numb? I just wanna compare with people. I felt like I was being held down all over, although she never touched me, I could not move at all, not even scream. I felt no sensations in any of my limbs.
