| People will unit against a common enemy. That's been proven with Athens and Sparta against the Persians, the Allies and Soviets against the Axis, and your own example of two parties trying to eradicate a disease. But what if those parties worked against each other? The disease would be cured much faster; if they were at war, and they both needed their soldiers to stop dying off, they wouldn't come to terms to stop the disease, not in the middle of a war, no. Even if they did, competition is much more efficient: evolution, natural selection, it is not cooperation, and it is the most efficient at producing superior organisms. Economic and scientific competition is much more productive than military competition. And no, they aren't synonymous. | ||
