If you never want a spoon to reflect water again, then here's what you do.
Use a cloth or some masking tape and cover the handle end of the spoon (To protect your fingers)
Use a lighter and heat the bottom end of the spoon. Like how heroin users do it.
Hold it there for around 5 minutes.
Take the lighter off and quickly run cold water over it.
The heat treatment will stop it from splashing back.

Lighter won't work, not hot enough. Proven previously when this was new. Gas stoves work better.
