i may shit on Smash 4 all the time, but i very much do love the game, as im playing it right now, i just don't love it enough. In fact this may shock a lot of people, but i find Brawl a better game than Smash 4

I can understand that. Personally, I am not a fan of sm4sh either, but that's most likely because I haven't gotten to play it enough.

Melee will always be my favorite, though. so many memories with friends. So much hype. And now we're breaking into the local competitive scene.

Maybe we'll hit a VG tourney in SoCal eventually.

This just goes to show how unbalanced melee is.
At least smash 4 can make the playing field level instead of only have a handful of characters exploit game mechanics that make them overwhelmingly superior.
I couldn't care less about what you play but when elitists come out talking about "trash 4" when they're mostly mad because it's not melee it's a little bit irritating.

Every character can exploit the game mechanics. But weights and floatiness come into play, as well as the number of viable kill moves. Eventually every fighting game becomes a relatively small cast.

Much to Melee's credit, though, in the last 3 years, S tier has expanded from 4 characters to 8, and A tier has gone from 6 to 11 characters, and most characters have been moved to at least B tier. only 4 characters are "unplayable" competitively.

That being said, I and other players I know also hate the elitist shitlords that hate on Sm4sh. Even Brawl was a decent game. The only thing i didn't like about it was the random tripping. I even think it brought a neat new mechanic into the series - Jumping off of other characters.

But when you mindlessly hate on Melee, you look much the same as those elitist shitlords that you hate so much.

Also, Smash 4 is not balanced if they have to keep on patching the game like other fighting games that can

its already way ahead of melee in that sense which has had how many balance updates?

Brawl's random tripping killed it for competitive, it being balanced wouldn't have made up for that.

Again updates will fix anything that's outright broken.

64 isn't even relevant, no one plays it of course it's diverse.

I guarantee that Smash 4 will fall into that same situation 5 years from now

and trust me people have been finding exploits for Smash 4 like they did with 64, Melee, and Brawl

if anything the most diverse character cast is probably 64 and not Smash 4

You ignore the fact that, counting main characters alone, there were 9 different characters in the top 16.

Check back in 3-5 years and tell me that you can see that much diversity. If so, then great.

Also, I never said Melee was better than any other Smash game. I just hate when people use bullshit arguments to hate on Melee.

P.S. Players who use "worse" characters are able to compete with "better" characters by being great with technical skill. A Yoshi player sees frequent top 16's and top 8's and there are multiple mario bros and a bowser player that hit top 32 regularly.

i also hope others know that Wavedashing was a thing before Melee as it was in MvC 1 and Tekken Tag Tournament

But that's also suggesting that you'll do perfect on every test and project, which is far from reasonable. Everyone has off days, and with 4-6 different core classes to keep up with, you'll be missing a fair few assignments per semester unless you run yourself absolutely ragged.

The missed or failed homework assignments can really end up hurting your grade. Especially since nobody gets 100's on every night's homework.
