But if a Factory can not at least make a profit without government aid, what's the point of having it? If they're not making a profit then they're not worth keeping around. As well, depending on the factory, you don't really need much education to work it, just a basic instruction classes and safety classes to let people know what they're supposed to do, what's safe and what's not safe. It's a simple, "This is your job, don't do this, this, and this, and watch out for anything unsafe and you're fine!" It's why most people drop out of schools and go into the workforce, there's pay to be earned and there's always a job needed to be done.
That being said I do agree with you that the roads do need to be maintained by someone, and that law enforcement needs to be around to both protect the factory and the surrounding area from criminal activity. however, #22 did bring up a good point about how factories do tend to employ their own security agencies, but police are still vital regardless, thought not as a 24/hr watch on the factory.
I don't think he's saying" Taxes are stupid and we shouldn't have to pay them!" I think he's saying that things like welfare and such. I believe he's trying to say that everyone should try to support themselves, as there are people who use welfare to just buy stuff and don't get a job with it. That being said, there are people who do need welfare, and they are probably the majority, but still, like anything, a few bad seeds can ruin the whole thing.
My belief is similar to what I believe he's trying to say - of course I may be wrong with what he's trying to say, and if I am, and anyone can prove it, please correct me. But I believe that everyone should be able to pay for themselves, they should have their own job/s and be able to support both themselves and their families. I do, however, realize that certain circumstances can lead to people being unable to support their family with the job that they have/with the pay that they earn. This is were welfare SHOULD come into play, rather than what it is now where anyone who doesn't have a job can go on it, then use the money however they wish with almost no reprucussions. That does not mean we shouldn't pay taxes however. I am willing, and happy, to pay my taxes to ensure that my government, it's army, police force, firefighter force, etc. can still run, and that the government can maintain and improve upon the infrastructure of our country. This is just my opinion, however, and you can feel free to disagree.

Working at the minimum wage for 40 hours a week in the US doesn't provide enough to support yourself. You would have to work 64 hours a week to support yourself, that's bare minimum.
Welfare should be what allows poor people, who came from shitty backgrounds, to have the same opportunities to prosper, and to make their nation prosper. It should be a hand up, not crumbs thrown off the table so they don't starve as quickly.

**anonymous rolled image**Most of the rail roads during the 1800s that were used to transport goods were privately funded. studies have shown that kids that graduate from private schools do better than public school kids, and police offer enforcement not direct protection. The police are usually involved after the damage has been done. Private business have security systems that protect their property.
everything you mentioned was at one point privately funded, and can be done again.

Maybe that's because children who go you private schools are richer, and are able to afford a more expensive and higher quality education, not necessarily because the government is incompetent.
Also, there is a world of difference between railways and roads. On a railway, the first to build it had a monopoly on travel on it, because not everyone could just buy a train and use it. For roads, you'd need to set up a toll system.
Also consider that there are probably a lot of roads that aren't used enough to justify a private company building them. The modern era isn't the same as the 1800s, but, I suppose it could be done again, but you would only have a small amount of roads that are deemed profitable enough to build and maintain, essentially depriving many of effective, or perhaps even essential infrastructure.

>not every business is a subsidized out the ass solar panel factory that is able to run only thanks to the government
> many businesses turn a profit despite heavy taxation and regulations by the government
>since a government cannot produce anything of value directly, for a society to work, producers have to fund the govt not the other way around.

Also the Cardiovascular Institute of the South is an organization that was founded and run purposefully rejecting anything but private funding so that they could actually research what they wanted and not what government grants restricted them to. They have actually come up with some pretty revolutionary surgery techniques and shit as a result.
TLDR; The world doesn't revert back to a bunch of retards bashing shit with rocks just because "Muh govt programs" get cancelled.

Roads should be funded entirely by gasoline taxes, how they originally were supposed to be. If you don't drive, you don't pay the tax.
Our public school system is an absolute disaster
Only anarchists don't want police to exist, but even so, many companies employ their own security
also, none of these have to do with socialism
#118 - anon (05/26/2016) [-]
A business doesn't benefit from roads directly, and in that way they wouldn't be offering tax money under your gas tax policy, but they do still benefit from the fact that there are roads for clients to use in order to get to their service or product. The government employs people to keep our country smooth, clean, and protected. When people decide they can do that without any governing force that'll never happen then you can have your gas tax anarchy bullshit.

Police are supposed to keep order though, not guard a place 24/7 just in case.
Roads are a bit too important for everyone nowdays to just say "those who drive should pay for thm" sine you usually buy stuff from other parts of the world in the local supermarket, and they got those goods there by a road.
It goes on like that forever
