Too bad he's wrong as primates are a higher order of classification, and there are 5 genera of great apes, not 4.

But hey, that's funnyjunk for you, where high school level science gets butchered.

But majority of people who consume meat bash vegans/vegetarians on bias knowing little to nothing. Is that not the same as an idiotic vegetarian telling people to stop eating meat?

By nature, we're omnivores. That's why our teeth are shaped the way they are. Vegans aren't necessarily idiots. It's understandable that someone might be uncomfortable eating something that once had eyes, a heart, and so on. It's just those who like to get pissy at people who DO eat meat because they don't share their ideals. Animals kill each other all the time in nature, and humans are the only ones who ever feel guilty about it. Saying people shouldn't eat meat is like saying birds should stop puking into their kids' mouths. It's gross to some people, but it's just natural, and it's how we've survived as long as we did.
#410 - anonymous (05/23/2013) [-]
It's mostly the stupid/idiotic ones that draw attention. They define themselves by their diet and want everyone to know about it. There are plenty of smart vegans/vegetarians out there(including ones who hate PETA) but they're harder to spot because they know their choices on diet are not something to scream to the masses.

Because they make themselves out to be that way by trying to come up with pitiful ideas for never eating meat or animal products. I don't care personally if they do it or not but they better not mess with MY meat supply.
User avatar #411 - lazysuzan (05/23/2013) [-]
Fair enough, but I guarantee that not all of them will try to persuade you to stop eating meat.

Mm-hmm. That is correct, it is one of our distinguishing features. Though, biologically speaking, we're all animals. Primates, one of the four "great apes".

I'm saying that we control our decisions and our universe 100%, and that if we were to look ahead into the future we would see the one linear timeline or universe that we live in, and it will have all of the future decisions we will make and the future events we will experience.

No problem, I really like the ability to discuss philosophy so freely on funnyjunk

The whole concept of having an infinite number of universes makes sense, every decision changes the universe, and there is an equal number of universes for each decision, which is infinity. I don't agree with actually accepting this as a practical theory, sure I could change the whole universe by doing something unlike my normal self and wear a green bowtie to school and changing the progress of time, but in the universe that we live and breathe in, the one that we don't jump to and from I wore a green bowtie and the effect was so and so. I'm essentially looking at the universe that we live in out of all the other possible universes within our timeline and that's our LINEAR progression of events.

I also believe in fate, but in a weird way. By my theory, if we can look at this linear progression of events, or "timeline" and can look into the future (which is impossible, before we start making the argument that I can change my future if I know what it is, which is a solid argument) I will have already made every single decision in my life, and from my heavenly state where I can look at this timeline, I can see myself contemplate these decisions and then go to whichever decision I so chose.
User avatar #227 - lazysuzan (05/22/2013) [-]
That was extremely insightful, thank you.

Are you saying if you were to change your future due to one being capable of seeing the future, is their life ultimately an illusion of choice?
