Everyone wanted their own piece of the country; Christians wanted this portion, Kurds wanted this portion, etc... He had no other option. The Kurds were going to revolt sooner or later.

Well I've heard that the 2nd one can't compare so if I start playing it with low expectations will it work out okay?

I liked it more. The main plot hole is how Rapture came back from the brink of destruction.
What it may give up it plot strength, it makes up for in feels, it was a lot more emotionally gripping.
