That's a lie, chances of finding other players is... exactly 0. Because there is no multiplayer. People already met up on the same spot on the same planet, tried multiple times too. This game's only interaction with other players is that you can see what others named stuff.

For the sake of others reading this i will respond, that appears to be an isolated case that has only happened between two people so far, and has been addressed by the devs.

Im willing to believe they wouldnt have said its possible if its not, and there are multiple factors which could stop the players from seeing each other. Of course i would eat these words and accept i was wrong if it turns out they cucked us hard, but for now i trust them.

Not in the sense that you can just hop onto whichever planet your friends are on.

Everybody starts on a random planet near the edge, but your friends apparently show up on the galaxy map, so with some coordination you should be able to meet up, it just might take a long time.

As the other guy said though, you can play the game for about 2 hours after it releases and still refund even with a pre-order, so i would at least give it a try first.
