Oh yeah fuck that. I think it's not as bad as the internet wants it to be but I can't stand all the bigotry and dogma that surrounds it.

It is all good and fun to think whatever you want to make you feel good. But that doesn't mean it helps in reality at all. No matter how good it makes you feel that people are thinking about your well being, it does not change the fact that it does literally nothing to benefit them. Why say praying when you can actually write a nice letter to the person telling them personally that you hope that they feel better. Because if you sit here and pray I guarantee it will not help this woman at all. And I agree with most people on that fact that, with all due respect, who cares about this one person? So many people die everyday doing more heroic things. But just because this guy is American and has an attractive wife doesn't mean they trump the other 80,000 or so people that died that day. P.S. Again not trolling at all just trying to put some logic into the situation.

I agree that the actual prayer does nothing to help the situation, but i think the act of it helps remind people of what is important and how lucky they are. That can be done without god but the result is the same either way.
And yeah the prayer won't help this woman. That's why you're right and it is stupid in this situation. I just don't think it's always bad. And yeah you should always do something besides just pray. Those families I talked about all visited my dad or at least sent flowers or something.
