it's easy to be happy if you are stupid

From what I've seen so far, people who spend fortune on anime and mango or any other stuff of similar sort, be it MLP or whatever else are simply people who have nothing better to care for in their lives. You'd think someone can have a family, partner, a friend, or even a pet. At the very least any sort of or hobby. And don't tell me this is a hobby. This is merely byuing tons of merchandise and stacking it on shelves. It could have been a bunch of canned peas and the amount of effort and passion would be just about the same.

No creativity, no initiative, no development - just countless hours of looking at someone else's creations to detach yourself from reality, keeping you in the same place in your life for gods know how many years. Are you sure the guy is happy?

Or maybe he created a dream-come-true shelter around himself because he doesn't really know how to be?

What you said is a bit harsh but it perfectly makes sense. Don't know why some people thumbed you down. You need to have some goals in your life and try to archieve them.

Detaching yourself from reality is nice, if not even necessary, to give your mind some relief. You know, keeps your sanity on a safe level. As with everything, it's great when it comes in moderation.

And I probably got thumbed down, because it's simply a generic harsh truth for people like you, who most likely have goals, have distance to themselves, and can put things into perspective. But there are also people who know that this is true specifically for them.

Realising the need of improvement and horror of stagnation is especially unpleasant who those who are already down that road, and we both know there's plenty of such people on FJ. And each would gladly thumb me down, to have the band wagon confirm that I'm wrong, so they can detach themselves from that unpleasant truth even further.

Or at least that's my best guess.

That is very well said mate. I share your point of view. But not going for any goals in life can also be caused by depression. And it is not easy to get rid of it. I think every human once felt completely down.

Well, assumptions either side of the argument are wrong. We don't have evidence for either side.
