That is indeed the stereotypical wage protester. But society as a whole needs to calculate the numbers for themselves, and realize that the minimum wage as it stands is not enough. I'd like you to do something that may take a few minutes, but it really helps add perspective to the situation. I'd like you to add up all of the money you spent on rent, bills, food, transport, phone, and internet in the last 3 months. Multiply that by 4 and you'll have about your spending over the course of a year. And then take the minimum wage in the state you live in or if you do not live in the USA, then the federal minimum of $7.25 , multiply it by the number of hours you work in a week, and then by the number of weeks you work in a year. I'd like you to think about which number is bigger and by how much. And then realize that that budget has absolutely no room for getting sick and needing medication, no room for regular doctor check-ups, eye exams or glasses, dental exams or work, no room for buying books or video games, or going out to see a movie with friends, no room for buying new clothes if your old ones wear out, or doing laundry at all if you don't have a machine in your house.

i remember doing the mathematics on that when i first got out on my own, i already knew before i was on my own, shit was going to be rough, first job i had didnt last long but i worked there the end of my high school and some what afterwards, but $7.25 an hour when in school is not bad, but after i moved out i moved onto temp work and found a place that does $9/hr, but of coarse it was a 112 mile round trip to and from work so add the expenses in there, then food, then bills, then habbits, and so on and so forth,

I'm not arguing for $15/hour, that is obviously ridiculous. But enough to keep a small hard working family afloat despite having only 1 working member. Because there are many single parent families in America, and they deserve to make the poverty line.

right, i worked through temp agencies before when i first started off after i moved out and that was rough, but what makes it hard is when you look at all the people portrayed by the media or internet, we see mostly teenagers or slackers demanding better pay for low end jobs, and yes most of us get upset but if people talked more about the families who are struggling it may help

Because I am known for TV comics.
What you just posted is something relevant to my work.

This is the root of it, but in the description there are many to go through.
I'm sure you'll see why people mention me when it comes to TV comics.

Exactly how my mind works.
I use TV sometimes to illustrate my thoughts.
I use MS Paint too. Well, its cool how you are using my method to get front page.
But remember, don't let the trolls get the best of you.
What you did was awesome and funny. That's all you need.
#8 to #7 - laughatthis ONLINE (11/13/2011) [-]
