thebritishguy (05/18/2013) [-] I'm not a Christian I'm an atheist but it is interesting, I know that the bible has been tampered with a lot, they found a bible from only 300 years ago and found a whole new book was in there and that there was a story in the modern bible which was only recently created because it wasn't in this 300 year old bible. Is the Quran Jesus a lot different from the biblical Jesus? Unfortunately, that's not something I know very well and I absolutely cannot talk about it until I know it inside and out, but the story of his death is very different (why the hell is he described as white!?) when he was being hunted by the romans, he told his followers that he needed to leave the country, at at which point one of his followers betrayed him for the bounty on his head. Jesus pbuh was then brought up to heaven and his betrayer's face was changed to look just like Jesus' and he was the one killed at the cross (Kinda funny how people are worshiping this guy, I believe in Jesus pbuh but if he was the son of god and not human, how can we be expected to relate to him?) | ||

| wow, super interesting. I knew of some prophecies in the Quran which I showed Christians and asked them: "How can you deny these prophecies without using the same arguments against the biblical prophecies." These are certainly far more impressive than the biblical prophecies. #65

lamarisagoodname (05/18/2013) [-] That's from a written aspect, from a historical aspect about the muslim people (alas, you don't see this on TV) when Saladin liberated Jerusalem, he asked the christian authority to pay the ransom so he could release his christian POWs (as was the etiquette of war back then) at this point, all the pastors from the churches packed up their gold from the donations and fled the country. Islam has very strict and specific rules of trade that allowed muslims to prosper and grow economically (trick is the explicit and very VERY strict ban on interest and the promotion of trade) because Muslims were very unmaterialistic, often taking their gold and putting it into their architecture, decorations and decorating the Qur'an (pic related, it's my copy of the qur'an) they paid out of their own pockets to return t he christian families home, at which point many of them converted to Islam seeing as their religion had effectively abandoned them. There's also Halal meat, which is something you can actually experience and see how someone can actually benefit from following Islam (video is in two parts, not gory so don't worry about it) www.youtube.com/watch?v=quhVxLUwiBw It's a lot more lean (no more 25% of your steak being fat) much more humane slaughter (video related) far less bloated (stunning the animal traps the blood inside so the meat weighs more and can sell at higher profits) and it tastes MARGINALLY better (I've had Canadian friends say the same, and I have only just recently switched to Halal meat) pick some up next time you go buy a steak, it's actually cheaper pound-for-pound and it is much more nutritious You'd be interested to know that Jesus (pbuh) is mentioned 5 times more than the prophet in the Qur'an, and approximately a third of the Qur'an describes the story of the Jewish people. Because of the nature of the arabic language and the complexity of the wording in the Qur'an, there is no way an illiterate man (Muhammad pbuh) could have written it himself. Also, because of the fact that a single wayward accent or stress/understress (arabic punctuation is much more complex than that of english) would change the ENTIRE meaning of a word, and therefore the phrase, any tampering with the Qur'an has been EASILY intercepted and identified, so I believe it is a much more accurate way of looking at the history of Jesus pbuh and Moses pbuh. #62
