Yes, and when a fanbase expands too much and gets too caught up in itself it attracts people you don't want to associate with.

"Nothing ruins a good thing quite like knowing you share your opinions with mindless little tits who bray like mules at so much as the mention of the word cake."

While a good show deserves a good fanbase, when it pushes people away from watching it is not a good one.

If someone can't handle sharing an interest with them, then they don't deserve to like the show. People need to stop hating a show for it's fans, and just ignore the idiots.

Liking a product and liking the community based around the product are two completely different things. What you just said is absolutely idiotic. So someone can't like something unless they assimilate to be just like fans they despise? Fucking wow.

That's not what i said at all. I said people that hate a show, because they hate the fanbase, and *consciously or not* worsen their opinion of a show because of it's fanbase becoming too popular and diluted with idiots, makes that person an idiot as well. I'm mostly directing this at some of the elitists on /a/ and /anime/ *not all of them are bad, but some of them are*

"If someone can't handle sharing an interest with them, then they don't deserve to like the show."

That is exactly what you said.

I didn't say you had to join them, but if you can't even handle knowing that they like it *and there are a lot of people that will drop a show just because they don't want to be associated with them in any way, even at the cost of watching a good show* then you didn't deserve to watch it in the first place.

You implied it. You basically said to like it you should be just like all the other fans and love them, even if they're being fucking asshats and ruining the image of something you enjoy.

"sharing an interest" "be just like all the other fans and love them" Rather big difference, even by inference.

Well I'm thankful, I would never have known about alot of great shows like this, SAO, etc if not for FJ.

SAO's overhyped as shit by its fans. And most people learn about airing anime just by looking them up.

SAO had great potential that was never taped. But Its still good.
Never thought of that.

I'd say the only true masterpiece Is FMA Brotherhood. But that was on the second attempt so Idk if we can count that.

Considering something a masterpiece is opinion. I have several shows I consider masterpieces and FMA:B is not one of them. It is to other people though.

What are your takes on masterpieces? For science of course.

Agree with you there...when one doesn't really understand the work, and tries to act like they do and say shit bout it...damn it sucks.
