I guess shyness has a lot to do with self-esteem.
There's a lot of things than can build up to make a person not like themselves very much. You might have grown up in an unbalanced home, where one child is favoured more than the other. You might look different to most people. You might be interested in hobbies that other people don't like. That sort of thing. It can be little stuff like a mole on your elbow or it can be major stuff like an abusive parent.

For some people, these worries take up a lot of their energy, and it makes them feel like they're abnormal. Because they feel constantly out-of-place, it can affect their everyday behaviour. They might stay in their room all day, avoiding people. They might stutter or go red with embarrassment. They might avoid speaking, for fear of looking foolish. They might choose to stick to the same foods every day.

Most people have family and friends who support them with everything. My sister makes sure that her children know that they're smart and beautiful, so that they have assurance in case they're ever bullied. Some people don't really have that. So they don't see themselves as good enough, ever.
Most shy people pull themselves out of the ditch as they get older. These people usually retain certain 'quirks' from their shy days though. They might still stutter sometimes, or they might get nervous before talking to a waiter at a restaurant. But it's possible.

The best thing you can do for shy people is treat them like normal people. Don't make fun of them for getting nervous. Oh god, please don't do that. If they ask for support, offer it. But don't hold their hand and do everything for them. Otherwise they'll just get worse.

I play my Vita everyday with all my localized weeaboo games and emulated PSP games, dood.

I picked one up a few weeks back and bought MH:FU on the second day I owned it.

The only reason I haven't bought more Vita titles is cause I dont need to yet, but there's so much good stuff on the store (if you're a fan of Japanese games, anyway). The console itself could be better, but I'm more than happy with it.

Disgaea 3 and 4 are on Vita, and 1 and 2 are available in the store for PSP emulation, dood. That's at least a couple months worth of game, probably even years considering all those games have a shitload of post game content and you can grind up to level 9999 in all the games.

Bullshit is what it is. You basically rent PS3 games and use an online emulator on the store. You can't just buy the games or the emulator.

I hear Freedom Wars is gonna' be one of next weeks free PSPlus titles though, so I might not have much free time to play Disagea after I download it.

If you get it for free, then that's fine, but I got fed up with that game, dood. After a while it's just "kill x number of giant robots in y amount of time" over and over and over and your entire ai team is beyond worthless, so if you have friends, play with them.

I heard it was a fairly decent Monster Hunter clone (which the Vita seems to have dozens of...although I didn't enjoy Soul Sacrifice that much), so I'm looking forward to it anyway. Even if it turns out to be boring then at least it was free like you said .

Sounds a bit like Toukiden's ai. In multiple-monster hunts the ai in that game is worthless. They just go after the closest thing to them so the whole hunt lasts 5-10 minutes longer than it should.

Well hopefully with FW going free next week there's a decent enough online population to get some fun out of it before the grind sets in.
