what fried says, being naturally gifted with the force like he is translates nothing into being able to wield a light-saber or do well in combat. throughout the clone wars series many non force users where able to hold their own against skilled force users.

But they spent the whole film setting up the explanation for why he was beaten. Chewie's Bowcaster. Other than a lightsaber, has any other weapon in Star Wars ever received as much attention in one of the movies? Hell no. They spend the whole movie establishing that the bowcaster is an unholy device of ultimate fuck-bringing. The camera lingers on it, Han Solo talks about how much he loves it, after taking out a squad of troopers with a single, explosive shot. A trooper who gets shot by Chewie is thrown 30 feet by it. Every scene in a movie is carefully chosen for a reason, and all the scenes with the bowcaster are there to establish that this is a weapon you DO NOT want to get shot by.

And then Kylo Ren takes one right to the gut, and his reaction is to hit himself a few times to distract himself from the pain, then go out in the snow to personally hunt down the fucks who shot him and messed everything up. And then proceeds to almost manage to beat the heroes - both of whom have been shown to be pretty handy in a fight earlier in the film (Rey particularly is a total ninja with her staff early on).

I think when you take the whole of the film and the set up fro that fight into consideration, Kylo Ren is considerably more badass than you're giving him credit for.

That's three more scenes than have been given to any other weapon in Star Wars. Even the Death Star only had a single scene that showed off its firepower. Lern2FilmTheory bro.

It was pretty overt too, I'm honestly surprised so many people still don't understand how much shit you're in from getting hit by that motherfucker. Also, "unholy device of ultimate fuck-bringing" is a truly amazing combination of words

Still, just because they are tall/have muscle does not mean you can't beat them up easy. And on the other hand, it does not mean they could not beat you up.
I have a skinny friend that is a great fighter, and really does good against guys that are fatter.

I have a friend who is going to some "army training" private thing, where he is thought random judo techniques. He thinks hes strong. Hes not.
