Yeah we have kind of a similar ritual to what you call 'commencement' here, but we do it when we finish college and most of people postpone it like you because here you have to present not only a speech, but a thesis, a career-related project and another project in benefit of a community (can be either your own town or not).

And don't worry lol, I get that kind of questions all the time, it's because we are such a small country that we are barely noticeable by the rest of the world. The official language here is Spanish, since we are part of Latin America, but some of us decide to stand out and learn some foreign languages; our ethnical roots are pretty wide, including Spain, Europe, Caribbean countries such as Jamaica, U.S. and even some of us are descendants of Filipinos lol! C.R. has its flaws like any other country, but it's a nice place to live overall.

If you ever need a tourist guide just let me know, I can get you some phone numbers LOL jk.

Yeah I know what that is, at least in my country that exists too. I finished high school and had to go through that (although we call it "internship" here) for like 4 months with no salary at all or whatsoever >:(.. But yeah in the end I got my high school diploma (or whatever you guys call it over there lol) with a focus in computer's engineering.
It sounds pretty cool that you are going for a non-conventional profession (you know what I mean, ruled by men and blah blah...)! I have some girl friends who are into that automotive field as well, I think they're hot just for knowing how a car works, lmao :P

Well, a bit of me now: I'm from Costa Rica (no, I don't live in a jungle as most think lol and yes I can suggest you a couple of nice beaches here that will make you feel like in paradise ;)), turning 21 soon, working at HP as an IT specialist -but honestly I'm doing it just for the $$ to pay college :/ not like I love this place-, getting a major in Graphic Design (I know, what a twist lol) and playing guitar all day long.

TL;DR: Got this elephant for you! :D

Hey don't worry, that's okay. I got your back ;)!

@seriousconvo: so, what do you do for living, if I'm allowed to ask?

PS: I'll be your player two anytime you need it ;)

No no, you are welcome :) I'm totally sure I'm not the first one to do that, you're like really good looking (trying to hold myself to avoid sounding like a creep ;) lol)
And I agree with that, new friends are always welcomed! So hey, welcome! :D lol

pic semi-related: punny, are we? alright, we're on! >:D
